I think you mean MotorTrendTV...
But yeah, they're essentially cheerleaders, maybe even spurring on the internet & phone bidders.
The technical fiction and incorrect terminology gets irritating, and Chris Jacobs seems most guilty of that.
I record the episodes and watch later, so I can rip through the endless Broncos, Chevelles, and most of the Euro-luxury stuff.
But it's kind of a car show, which is fine by me.

The '62 Fury Max Wedge that sold for $115,000 was a surprise to me; that's almost double the usual range, and the car apparently had no provenance.
I'd seen it highlighted in a couple of recent internet articles - black with red&black interior, 11.0:1, 727.

There was a great 440+6 ivy green gTx I liked and a 69 1/2 red A12 roadrunner that sold in the 60,000 range which I thought was a good price.Saw a panther pink barracuda that sat really low so I'm not sure about that one. drive

I seen something about it there last night. I don't see Barret Jackson returning to the north east. My guess is the weather take it's toll on cars and there are not as many around compared to other parts of the country. Yea the announcers get hard to listen to. Especially that DB that wears dark glasses all the time from BJ. If the car is so great you buy it! I don't need to know what you think. My favorite is April Rose on the BJ actions. Cristy lee or that other blond which i cant remember are not bad either. At lease if they don't know what they are talking about they are easy on the eyes. grin

Funny - I can't stand April Rose - Cristy & Katie are much more hip, I think.

Bear in mind that the cars often look a lot better on TV than in real life - I catch the quick camera-pans over significant flaws all the time.
They're also often mum on details such as #s and the car's history; but there's only so much time, and they're paid to hype the cars, not investigate them.
I've caught B-J in a misrepresentation of a Hemi car as #s matching, when I know for a fact it is not...and they quoted their "Mopar expert" !
Auctions have to be taken with a grain of salt, as the old adage goes.

But if you think Mopar prices are nuts, look at what they get for Chevelles & Chevy IIs...I just don't get that.

That Barracuda is Moulin Rouge, not Pamther Pink. Its a poorly done lump, just look under the hood , painted hood latch, pop-up spring even the hood wedges.

Their job is to talk up the cars. What are they going to say to talk up a turd? They should stay away from what is correct and just describe what they have in front of them. Most viewers don't know the difference anyway.

The idiot said the FC7 70 T/A was a 340 auto Tri-Power.

That was Bill Stephens, when he was talking to Katie Osborn. Looking at an apparent survivor '70 T/A in Plum Crazy.
I rolled my eyes, when I heard him say the tri-power line! What a doofus!!! He is the so called "Corvette expert," during these auctions, and he should stick to just commenting on those cars. Katie asked him also, if he would drive the T/A, sell it, or park it.... His answer was "sell it"... eyes What else would you expect a Chevy lover to say?
