Good idea, I have one on my 64. Otherwise I try to use the front mount stuff. Have no doubt you will get her figured out and running better soon enough. Sorry about the dog. That sucks for sure.

Graph of 2nd pass, best mph. Notice the rpm in first, I have to reduce rpm shift point in first, then raise the Rev limit. Rev limit was supposed to be 8,000. Look at the acceleration graph. I knew it felt squrrilly!!
Red equals engine rpm, blue is driveshaft, lower line is acceleration.
Notice that it was against the Rev limiter for a full half second at the top of low gear.

Greg, why is the driveshaft line squiggly? Has it always been like that? Mine was that way at first, but I've since cured it.

Pretty smooth at the hit but yeah gets all wonky later on for sure. Not sure what it uses for a sensor or how it is mounted.

My drive shaft sensor ring would not fit on the Dana, so I put it on the front yoke. Motion in and out apparently messes with it. On top of that, the car got loose twice, and the rpm driveshaft spikes and acceleration graph drops show it. Notice the flat spot in the top of first gear . The MSD rev limiter comes in 400 rpm early!!!!
Jeff, how did you mount your sensor ring?

drives haft rpm is on front yoke. Won't fit my Dana, for some strange reason. I could feel the car dancing around twice, once at about 300 feet,,second time middle of high gear.

Kinda what I was thinking. Its "loosing" signal from distance, what it looked like to me anyway. Been there done that but with a 4 link car its not an issue. You could put the sensor on the output shaft of the trans in the tailshaft..Or buy a yoke that accepts a collar. I have a yoke that accommodates the ring on my 64

Al, I bought the yoke others were using on Dana 60s , from my Trans builder who is also a Mopar racer. It wouldn't fit, not enough room for the ring between yoke and housing. All I can think is I have an odd Dana housing. Sooooo, tailshaft it be.

I bought a yoke That works with the collar. My issue came from making the bracket out of steel. It was a head scratcher for a while. Finally made one out of aluminum, and it cleared right up.

I bought a yoke from Lofgren that worked on other Dana's. Wouldn't fit mine. Jeff, any idea why the steel bracket wouldn't work?

Bracket needs to be nonferrous.

What brand yoke is it Greg? IIRC, mine is from Strange. Has a machined surface for the collar.

I also have a Strange Yoke with a sensor. I welded a small bracket to the D60 and have a hall effect sensor mounted to it. The signal is smooth as glass, I have a Motion RaceWorks senor wheel with 16 teeth I believe.

I will double check. BUT I remember it appeared to reduce engagement to the pinion too much?

I have both heard that from others, and seen 200-300 on my old Dart with MSD Digital 6.

I figured the car was not set up properly after the best 60 ft drove me left towards the center line. So I borrowed scales and sure enough;
Lf844. Rf. 703
Lr. 674. Rr. 721.
Total weight with driver and fuel, 2942.
After taking 3 flats away from rr, I got
LF. 819. RF. 728
LR. 701. RR. 694
52.6 ,% on front, 47.4, % on back. The left side weight is1520 and right side is1422. So I chose to consider what the tires had to handle side to side in my choice of how much preload to use
