Here is a very rare and one of the most sought after Mopars in the market a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda 4 speed in Tor Red offered for $179,999. Well more than that went into the cost of this restoration. This car was professionally restored as a concourse restoration which is nut and bolt restoration over a span of 10 years to complete and finished in 2020 by Finer Details out of Indiana. N Code with full exact spec period correct 426 Hemi engine and all all correct Hemi body specific adjustments of which 990 miles on restoration. 3.55 Dana Rear End. Every detail of this car has been restored and refinished down to smallest of detail. Trophies in pics for validation.

Wow. Seems overbuilt for the neighborhood.

I'd think it would be hard to get over $100-110K.

Thinking this 383 4-speed car would sell at $70K to this level? Most 383 4spd's aren't done this nice. Then add $40k for Hemi parts (no labor) minus valuable 383 parts.

The resto with parts and buy-in might be $179K. But it's all about what someone would pay for it. SEMA type custom cars with 1/2 million plus dollar builds typically take even bigger hits.

I was thinking less than 100k, but then I dont follow E bodies that close either. A friend of mine owns a real R code 1970 hardtop. And I told me 2 years ago he had offers in the 200-250k range ( car isn't for sale btw )

I know of 2 separate hemi cuda vert clone sales, and they were both in the 125 - 135k range. And in pictures both looked like decent / well done cars ( one 1970 and one 1971 )

If they're going for close to that it's time to let mine go. also a factory N code 4speed but upgraded to Mega block Hemi, 18 spline, and new 4:10 strange S60.

Honestly thinking it will be hard get over the 6 figure mark. But just doing math with 383 4-spd quality resto $70K selling price (cost to resto more). Then plus hemi, 18 spline, Dana, k-member....at $40K in fairly correct parts. Maybe $30K

I have no doubt there's $180K in the build & restoration, and I doubt Finer Details - a premier Mopar shop, last I heard - has cheap prices.
But I'm thinking $100,000-$125,000 may be top dollar for it outside of an auction.
Whether Final Details did all the restoration work - the ad indicated they finished it - tells me there may be a story, or something hidden, but maybe I'm just cynical from seeing so many hack jobs.
By the same token, they may have looked it over very well before taking the car in; in any case, I'd sure want to talk to them if I was considering the car.

Yes, "finished" is different than complete resto. How much they finished is the big question.

Yes, that’s nearly impossible

But what I was getting at was who did what work. There’s an assumption that if a known high quality shop did all the work, you’re getting a car with all high quality reputable work.

An invoice from Finer Details would be helpful
