For the 2 and 1/2 friends I have here on the general board, who don't go anywhere else... I did a thing. (Usually when I say "I did" it, it means I physically learned the skills and did it, and that's how this is too). I have a lot more detail than that of course but here is the fun part. Haven't painted it in 31 years, and it needed it (and it needed much more which I also did). Have a few more pics but....this format....you know what I mean...... Been about 30 yrs since I last painted a car too. Looks like yours turned out great.

Thanks all. 3 year effort with plenty of sheetmetal replacement and repair. I'm definitely a different person now than when I started it. Developed a love for metalwork and restoration work that I never thought I would have. DUDE!! A nod to the Silver Bullet? Thx Not looking for SB comparisons with the wrong model year..., Just went back to original color is all.

I knew the SB was a different year, was thinking more along the lines of terrorizing the streets of Detroit..... . Gonna take some adjusting after seeing it black all these years.

Painting Silver is so much fun. Looks good. You did a better job than I on your first paint job.
Was it single stage, or base coat clear coat?

Thanks all, the color is 1969 Chrysler A4, PPG #2016, the original color. Painting Silver is so much fun. Looks good. You did a better job than I on your first paint job.
Was it single stage, or base coat clear coat? It's Base/Clear. No single stage metallics for me, not ever....tried that once on a repair/never again. Sorry if my post was misleading. The GTX is both my first and third complete paint job. Everything else is a smaller repair or a smaller part (engine, axle, etc). First/Second/Third below.

Left side "done" (and you know "done" is usually a lie with a car like this) above the character line for the time being. A short videoI might leave it alone below the character line for awhile(?) Will have to see how it looks when I get it up on the hoist, start prepping the new metal for epoxy/single stage black and sound deadener. Might cut and buff those areas later on but not sure. I'm not scooting around on the floor to do that. Learning alot on the fly....even work I did only 3 weeks ago is not to this level....I have to go back and refine what I just did a little further to make it all look like I want it to. That happened during bodywork as well. I'm pretty amazed how this project has changed me for the better.
