I think Mancini sells an inexpensive hemi pan and it may not be the same and an original?
I'm almost positive Mancini sells the only "hemi"-style pan of which is patterned after the '70/'71.. The '66/'67 are different than the '68/'69 which in turn, are different than the '70/'71... Whew !!!!
TroyHouston Mopar Connection Club'69 Charger Daytona 440 - auto - 4.10 Dana (now with 426 hemi) '69 Charger 500 440 - 4speed - 3.54 Dana '70 Road Runner 383 - 4speed - a/c (now with 440)

I just looked they have an MP hemi pan and their own label hemi pan , both have the same description , $26 price difference , both show 6qt .

Did you put oil in the filter? The dipstick is not different for the hemi pan on a big block.

No I didn't put oil in the filter. I have 5 qts in the motor now, I did run the motor shut in down and then checked the oil, and its right on the full mark. From what I understand the hemi pan holds 6 qts plus the filter, witch should be a total of 7qts. Also from what I understand no one makes a dipstick that will read correctly, so I have to make a new full mark on my dipstick. Is there anyone out there that had to do the same thing when they installed the hemi oil pan on a 440 ??

I talked to the Mancini guys at MATS about their six quart "hemi" pan. I was told by the Mancini guy total oil capacity would be six quarts using the hemi pan. Not six in the pan and one in the filter, but six total
that should be easy to figure out just ask someone on here who has a 70 up hemi how much oil it holds.

The Hemi pan is "supposed" to hold 6 quarts but the oil level is pretty high. I think 5 or 5 1/2 plus one for the filter is more realistic.
I agree. I put in 5 1/2

I would have to agree with this , I don't think the original pan was a 7qt total system , I have 2 original pans and they are the same depth as the repop , though I don't have a Mancini repop mine are MP , well at least one is , I think I got the other from Hoover's .
As far as the dipstick being off , what dipstick do you have 69 ? Also you need to let the motor sit for a while before checking the oil as it doesn't all fall directly back into the pan , especially with a mopar windage tray .

The Larger Hemi pickup will suck the pan dry, that is why the larger pans on Hemi. I would agree on the 5 1/2 qts or 6 total quarts in the factory pans.. Since the original motors burned a quart of oil every 1500-2000 miles, they were normally not full anyway.
