The question is WHY use a gas ported ring? IMO its a bit of a gimmick for most. The ONLY place I could see using them is on a Stock Eliminator car since they are not allowed to use a gas ported piston. Street car. Gas ports will get carboned up. Goodson makes a hand held jig for less than $100... you can use it to radially gas port all the pistons your heart desires! Rebco that does all of the gas porting for the top NHRA teams (and others) is local to me so it would be a no brainer to have them do it. I did a brief tour of their shop a few years back when I delivered a package.
