Hello all.. The Seller that I bought the parts from in April called and offered me one of his vintage Italian cars at a price I couldn't refuse.. He is aging and wants to reduce his collection. So, I am heading to Ontario on Monday night to pick it up. I referred to this link you shared above - http://mapleleafmopars.homestead.com/ImportingandExporting.html - which was helpful and seems to cover everything a private individual needs to import a vintage car from Canada to the US. My state DMV website also offered good info. Both sites mention Customs and Border Protection papers when registering and titling the car in New York. Anyone else have any recent vintage import experiences that are worth sharing? Cheers, - Art Here's a pic of the little tyke - all of 2,040lbs soaking wet.

Wow that link is quite old and the info dated. I would call the US border station you plan on crossing and asking them what the precedure is Dave

Thanks guys, I'll try calling the Border station - I've looked at the CBP website for importing vintage cars and the advice in the "old" link is still consistent with the current CBP instructions and guidelines.. as far as I could tell.
Has anyone dealt with having to translate the French language on Canadian documents? That is one requirement the NY DMV lists.. it has to be in English, or an official translation. I assume Canadian docs use both English and French..
Yeah, the car is a 1967 1.3L V4 Lancia Fulvia - they had tremendous success as rally cars clear through the 70s. Aluminum hood, doors and trunk lid. Less than 100hp in street tune, but light and very stiff chassis. The engine and suspension tune up well. After the Fuliva's rally success, Lancia developed the Stratos, same success... Then the Lancia 037, then the Lancia Delta Integrale.. right through the 90s.
I believe no other manufacturer has yet won as many WRC titles as Lancia.
Cheers, - Art

Thanks guys, The NY DMV and CBP websites look consistent.
Private individuals look to have it easier to cross and process the import documents.. Bob, thanks, I'll grab your cousin's information. - Art
