Howdy all,

I'm working on my 1969 4 speed road runner. When I got the car the reverse indicator lamp was missing from the dash, and it had no reverse lamp wiring harness that plugs into the switch on the transmission. I bought a new harness and a reverse indicator lamp for the dash. I've studied the wiring diagrams in the service manual but cannot locate the dash lamp on any drawings. The lamp I bought has a plain black wire with no connector on the end. My question: where do you connect this wire? Thanks for any help.

I replied to you on FBBO.

It goes to the "Z" terminal location on the bulkhead connector. Your new harness should have had a female connector with it.

It would appear our cheap a-s repops do not include the 5 cent terminal

Here's what I have from my '69 4-speed GTX that I think would be the same? Also included is the wiring harness comparison for an automatic and 4-speed.

A12 - Any pics of the factory connection for the tach harness at the back of the fuse box. I cannot find this info in any harness diagrams either. I have been told it is connected to the accessory fuse.

I'll do a search of my photos as my GTX also has a tach.

Do you know the color of the tach wire? Would it happen to be dark blue (dk blue as shown in the '69 B-body Plymouth/Dodge wiring diagram? If so then I hope this answers your question?

Tach wire is commonly gray to coil - reference signal and Blue from fuse block to tach 12 volt feed..

Remember that the ground is it being bolted to the cluster which is bolted to the body , many resto paint places the factory never painted and this can cause issues with grounds.

Mike, Thanks a million ...yes the tach wire is blue and your photo confirms the location @ the accessory fuse!!!! I have two 69 wiring diagrams (Dodge and Plymouth) and they do not show this blue tach wire. Your diagrams pictured above are the best I have seen. Any chance you can email them? If so, send me a PM.

I got everything functioning, thanks to your help. My car now has a reverse indicator lamp and functioning back-up lights for the first time in probably 30-40 years (I've only owned it for a couple months and am sorting out dozens of little issues). It's the small victories that keep us going, ha ha.

it makes a guy feel SO good when a stubborn issue is resolved.
