Most doctors these days are nothing more than drug pushers, I was astounded to find out that I knew more about tetanus shots than my former doctor.

The sad thing is that yearly sales dollars of Prevagen exceed yearly Dementia research funding by The National Institute of Health (NIH)
not that the total efforts of NIH since 1992 have resulted in a single “clinically useful” drug in the 6 that were eventually approved.

By “clinically useful” I mean 95% of caregivers notice a beneficial improvement in the patients behavior,
despite what standard tests on large numbers of patients show as mathematically “Statistically Significant” at the 95% confidence level.

Skip the Prevagen
do some sort of daily exercise,
daily eat more Extra Virgin olive oil to help your “Blood Brain Barrier”
and get more daily fiber in your diet so as to sleep better nightly.

It is not a hopeless situation
as the “Tau-ist” school of Dementia researchers are reporting encouraging results lately,
and the “BAP-ist” researchers are no longer hogging 90% of the grant money.

i went to see my doc yesterday. we had a good discussion about Prevagen, and after some searching in his data base of drugs and dementia, he came up with something called donepezil.
this stuff seems to have a somewhat good track record in slowing down the onset and early effects of dementia, so he thought it might be something appropriate for me to take. also, it's only $6.00, compared to $40-100 for Prevagen, depending on the regular strength or extra strength stuff.
my mother passed away rather young at 72, [R.I.P. Mom ! angel] and the last year or so, was in a home. after looking back, it seems all her symptoms points to dementia, so that is something i would like to prevent, if at all possible.
