how’s it going guys? I wanted to know if anybody has experienced this problem
so I installed a new Holley blue pump and regulator turned it on, and I had 7 pounds of fuel pressure both running the car and not
Ran the car pretty hard for a day noticed it was a little funny carburetor, wise, running lean as my AFR gauge told me
I ran around, looking for vacuum leaks. My carburetor was a little loose. However, I looked at my new gauge fuel gauge, and I was down to 3 pounds. So I tighten the carburetor up and readjusted the regulator and it came back up to six. I felt seven was a little too much.
has this happened to anybody before? Is there a break in period for the both pump and regulator?

My son and I have found some crazy stuff over the years. Fuel cells that were drilled and they never cleaned out the tank and just shoved the foam in. Fuel pumps with the plastic in them from the fuel cells, regulators that we took apart before using them and found aluminum in them. And now with the alcohol in pump gas it’s creating issues. We both run alcohol and my regulator has never given me a problem. If his car sit for a month he has to pull the top off his regulator. I would take a quick look inside the regulator.

Those regulators came with self taping screws. The brkt mounting holes weren’t tapped, at least on the 3 I had. They came with the pump. Not sure I've seen one that WAS tapped. The issue I've had is the regulator has too much pressure and won't adjust down. They seem to be hit and miss now. Last car I put one on I had 2 new Holley 803 regulators that pegged the gauge and wouldn't drop. The 3rd was fine.

Thank God I’m well stocked up on carbs.

Mine would loss pressure due to heat soak. It could be @ 8 when you check it at home and then be down to 3 after driving. I’m going to check a cold and see if the pressure goes way up now because I just did it while I was hot
