As for the SEO, the tools provided generate some of it automatically, but you are able to go in and edit that as well as add to it. I felt it would work well in my case, but the reality of that remains to be seen. I also felt their marketing was probably more powerful than I fully utilized. As for cost, I was pleased, the site was up and running for around $300, Having a “store” makes things a bit more expensive of course. That $300 included my hosting cost for my domain. GoDaddy was the majority of that—an annual fee based on their monthly multiplied and discounted over a year. The domain will be a monthly fee. The more features you use to build a more complex site, the more expensive it gets. I suspect I’m really just scraping the surface of how powerful their application is to build a site, due of course to my own lack of experience.

Oh, I'm editing this to clarify about the cost of using GoDaddy: for most of the work I was taking advantage of a "free trial" offer and that got most of the site designed (several hours over a weeks time), but once I added the Store, that was a "Premium" feature, and that accounted for what I spent. up

You can chat with me through the site, or just email me at bruceanliker@yahoo.com. Right now the waiting list is the shortest it’s been in quite a while. That is likely to change with the site now up and running. Honestly that’s one of the reasons that kept me from actually getting a site put together. Balancing the work life with this “second job” was my greatest challenge. But now I’m retired, so I no longer had an excuse. Read that as now would be a great time to jump in and beat anyone else onto the list. 😁 👍

I hear you! Unfortunately that’s not something that GoDaddy allows you to edit. At least not that I could find…

This is exactly the kind of user feedback I was looking for, thank you! Going back into GoDaddy, I found where I can change the Cookie message to allow the user to decline cookies. I’ve published the site again, so hopefully you should see that change. Thanks again! 👍

Wow Bruce. That looks great! Has your number changed since I met you in Roxboro to get the spindles from you several years ago? I've been meaning to call you to see if you could do a little custom thing for me. I am retired now too and will be working in my shop more. I'd like to get an image/logo for my shop that I can have digitized so my wife can embroider shirts and hats for me. Congrats on your retirement BTW!!

Nope, the number hasn't changed. Probably even better to just shoot me an email at bruceanliker@yahoo.com and send the specifics/ideas, etc. up

Alright, for those of you who asked, yeah, I had to take the site down for a while to resolve a couple different issues. It's now back up and running.

Enjoy! beer

Thanks so much! This art is what I really LOVE to do, so I should have retired to doing just the art a LONG time ago! Funny how making a living will get in the way of doing what you love sometimes.
