I have a problem that they put a TOYOTA engine in a DODGE.
I wouldn't have a Toyota in my driveway even if I got it for free.

I don't know, I think at the end of the day it's called hot rodding. How would you feel if I put a Viper engine in this? There are plenty of Lexus V-8 swaps already but I would want to be different.
As for the "car fix" guys there's no such thing as bad publicity which is why there's this thread.

I think I saw that episode and the statement was made, IIRC, that the Toyota engine used was the "small block Chevy of Japan". I look at that like I look at Proposition 65, only causes cancer in California. If you aren't in California it doesn't really matter. grin

I've solved all those problems. I don't watch any car shows on TV.

What those idiots do doesn't bother me in the least.

I used to put Mopar power into everything I build here (including a 60s Chevy truck, a Pontiac, and a 62 Chevy II) but finding Mopar stuff other then the modern Hemi these days is getting to be a real challenge. Not everything has room for a Hemi, and not everything needs a Hemi. Good thing my building days are winding down.

Lou Santiago is a great guy, met him at Mopars at the Strip almost 20 years ago and we kept in touch. He quit a couple of TV shows because they wanted to move him and his family to New York and LA to tape them and he would not leave North Carolina for those "progressive" cities. I am sure he doesn't like doing some of this crap either, but still a knowledgeable and straight-up guy... twocents

People with no brand loyalty(mopar) will put X engine in any brand car just because they can and think nothing of it.

I think Lou left before this swap occurred.

Not real sure why some are upset about it though, it's not their car.

Doesn't matter if it is their car or not, wrong is just wrong! Like said above, it is all about brand loyalty, and people who own Japanese cars have never known brand loyalty, To me it is all about legacy American brands, but I still cannot stand Chivvy engines in other legacy brands, and most people are just not stupid enough to put a Ferd in anything else... laugh2

"I wouldn't have a Toyota in my driveway even if I got it for free."

a neighbor kid gave me one that didn't run. i got it going, "chromed" the wheels with dollar store "chrome in a can", added a glasspack i had laying around because the thing needed a muffler, and painted it with a bunch of leftover "reds" the body shop had in a bunch of cans on the shelf.
got $750.00 for it. boogie biggrin

You apparently don't understand the difference between an opinion and a judgement.

Let me ask you this, what alternator is under the hood of your truck. Bet it's a POS Japanese one (an opinion) and that would make you a hypocrite, (a judgement).

I was thinking the same thing.

This is true, but I don't have to like it or agree with it and I don't!
