Lost a 69 RR spring green because I didn't have my priorities straight.

Funny how real that is...funny sad that is.
Very early in my marriage I was told I should consider selling my truck, My reply was the truck was here before you it will be here after you...we don't talk much any more.

Gotta find the right girl! My wife encouraged me to finish my car. Then she decided she wanted her own toy so we got her a Cutlass Convert. Then she agreed to me spending money on a low deck stroker for my car. Then she decided she didn't want an old toy so we sold the Cutlass and bought a '18 Mustang GT convert. We now each have a toy that's fun to drive and we NEVER discuss selling any of them!

My motto exactly and it has been true to life. Maybe all of you with wonderful wife's can let us others know where to find such a woman?

Mine told me, "heck yea, order a hellcat"...even went with me to place the order for a '23 Jailbreak Widebody. Even thought maybe we should go ahead and get a widebody Scat along with the hellcat (I had to actually think twice about that one)..so for now,. just the Hellcat. LOL

Before we got married I told my wife that if she wanted me she got my cars and that if she didn't want the cars then she didn't want me. 40+ years married now and she has stood by that. She even claimed the GTS as her own and had no problem when I went to get a car for me (the Barracuda). BUT, we have two friends who told their wives the same thing and it didn't go the same way...

Donna even told me to finish my car before hers. I'm almost ready to get back on them after a year and a half building a second garage with her blessing and encouragement. Here we are with her car in 1989...

Been married 45 years. I bought my 69 RR before we were married. I somehow got coerced into a prenup and the only thing that would remain mine would be the RR. Numerous times over the years it was “suggested” that I sell the car but I refused every time. I still have both the car and the wife.

My wife knew cars were my life before we ever started dating. I told her if she had any thoughts about changing who I was, she had the wrong guy. 46 years and counting. Open and honest up front solves a lot of problems.

I know a few coworkers that not only did their ex wives get the house but the cars also. One of them was smart and put the titles(classics) in his fathers name so she didn't them.

My wife asked me to sell my cars twice.

Once she said we could sell one to send the boys to college. I told her that they do half baked work in school and don't take it seriously so I am supposed to sell my hard earned car to pay for them being lazy? Nope, and she agreed.

The other time was the last time. She said I should sell my old cars I work on a lot and have more free time. I told her that isn't a bad idea, all the guys I work with go out and hit the bars drinking after work and I come home to these old heaps of metal. I'll just sell them all and hang out with the guys after work.

She never asked me since. LOL

Together 32 years, married 28 and I don't mention her collection of shoes.. whistling

My friend was a long haul truck driver and worked long hours often gone for days at a time. He came home to find his wife sold his rebuilt 440 Six Barrel engine to his 70 V code GTX that was on an engine stand in his garage while he was on the road! He's divorced now!

I met my wife at the track so it hasn't been an issue. She knows the car hobby is pretty much my entire social structure, I don't do sports, 99% of what I watch on TV is cars, all my friends race or work on cars etc.

I have a friend who has made it very clear to women he got serious with that the race car stuff won't go away. That cost him at least one marriage lol but he was up front with them!
