Awesome.

There are still good people out there but society ignores them.

That is great. You get more respect when you look and act like a person that respects themselves.

This is also what they learn at First Tee and many urban/youth golf programs. That and golf.

Why does the only white boy in that picture not have a long sleeve dress shirt on with a tie work down

He has a tie on, it has blue angled stripes, it just blends in with his shirt (and doesn't look very straight). Maybe the short sleeve shirt was the only dress shirt the boy had. You can't se if any of the boys towards the back have short sleeves or not. You can assume by what you can see, most have probably have long sleeves, but a couple you can't be sure of.

This is great but it's a shame it has to be taught in the schools and it isn't learned at home. I have the highest respect for teachers that not only own the task of providing an education, but also have to teach self respect, how to act and how to dress.

Not all of it is needing to be taught. Some of these kids just don't have the clothes, etc.

At my wife's school, there were kids skipping school because they were embarrassed that they only had 1 uniform shirt and 1 uniform pants or skirt. While it's true that some parents spend selfishly or foolishly at the expense of their kids, there are also some who work very hard and just make very little money, and they can't afford to buy more clothes for themselves or their kids. A few years ago, my wife's school's city council representative bought a washer and dryer out of his own pocket and gave them to the school. My wife and some of the other teachers coordinated a uniform exchange. Kids could get a clean shirt/pants or skirt and drop off their dirty ones, and teachers and aides would wash them. Attendance improved dramatically. And yes, for the pearl-clutching snowflake in the thread, some of these were short sleeved shirts.

shows so much more class than those that have the super baggy [in the rear] pants that show their underwear..........
here's hope for our youth. up
however, the term "Gentleman's Club" conjures up places like the "Bing", Tony Soprano's business............
maybe "Young Gentlemen of the Future Club" would be more appropriate.

Discrimination is in the eyes of the beholder work
I didn't, wasn't able, to see the tie until I looked harder after your post, what I saw was one white kid that was dress differently and partially hidden by the boys around him.
I learned a long time ago that most publicity conversations and pictures or interviews are well thought out and practiced up to several times before revealing them, hence my first impression was that he looked differently intentionally by those presenting the photo twocents :work

Dude, you are in control of what you say and think, and your easily offended also, HUH stirthepot hammer devil
Touche, M.F.er grin
I have lived in our country a long time and seen many bad things happen with the intent to make things better, WOKE culture and actions and political correctness are discriminating in any way you can look at them twocents
No one should be given or offered favors based on their religion, skin color, sex or any other WOKE based items they want favors on down: twocents

I have thought about what the real intent of those two gentlemen chipping in to help those young boys is aboutbow up They are helping at the basement level which will reap many benefits for all those involve now and in all of their futures up
We need more good black males making themselves available to set great examples on being a good person and teaching the young that they, the young, can achieve any goal they set for themselves in our country.
Hopefully none of the local hoodlums and gangsters will recruit them into dealing and using drugs as a way to make their living off of in the future luck

I teach Automotive at a Tech College. It's amazing to all the instructors I work with how few 20 somethings know how to shake someone's hand. We have this conversation often. We fit some of those skills into our curriculum(we call them critical life skills, Communication, Problem solving,Self-management, Time management,Etc.) as well as Automotive Technology. Crazy how many young folks don't have those simple life skills. I agree...these are skills that used to be(and should be) taught at home. Let teachers teach, not show your kid how not to an [censored].

Kudos to those folks teaching that at a young age...it needs to happen more. Our society as a whole depends on it!!

There was a kid in my class that got picked on constantly because he had greasy hair and not so clean clothes. I find it amazing that people/kids seem to go to extremes to pick on, call people names etc because they may not be as perfect as themselves. I found out the kid had no water because his mother couldn't pay the bill and it was shut off. So before bad mouthing others put yourself in their place and you may have a different perspective.

When I posted that photo, my point was that it's a noble thing being done to give those kids a better start than they'll get from absentee fathers.
It's laudable when someone gives their time and effort and probably money to help others that they probably don't even know.
I'm pretty sure there are folks doing this in other communities - white, Latino, whatever - but they don't get enough publicity.
(My Grampa did some of that decades ago, and there are photos that show a mix of kids.)
It's depressing that this thread has instead become something of a crap-fest, with some here - whom I respect - jumping to conclusions and issuing judgements.

It's aggravating enough to me that I'm likely to give this site a vacation.
Have a nice day.

The majority of the members here apparently can afford to enjoy our expensive hobby, maybe during this season you could contact your local school system and find the true families in need and make an anonymous contribution so that they can have food and warm clothes, even make contact with this teacher in the OP’s post and send a contribution so he can recruit more young men into his program. The End

Short sleeve shirt while wearing a tie was not that unusual back a few decades, for anybody.
Ever spent time at a drafting table with say a long-sleeve white shirt on?
Depends on where it's worn to an extent.

I was the third post asking for details to do just that and so far nothing. I've tried to Duckduckgo it with no success. So where do I go from here?
