I appreciate all the responses and opinions! Based on so many different color suggestions, I'm going to continue to recommend BLACK! If you mixed every color together here to satisfy the masses, that's what you'd get? IDK I think it would end up being a grey-ish brown, lol Black definitely makes more power, but factory colors look good too. I like clearcoated for anything aluminum.

... but at the end of the day all that matters is that it’s going to be an even bader b!tch than it was with the sb/turbo combo. I hope you're right but it's a tall order competing with a turbo and it definitely set a high bar (pun). At the beginnings of the swap/sale the talk was only 'how to reach 10.0 for NSS legal competition' which again takes some doing at his weight. ???Luckily??? We have colluded to try to eek a little more out of it, in the spirit of faster is funner.

After 20 years I got tired of seeing so much raw aluminum and shiny stuff so I'm switching to the super boring, done to death factory colors. (I've never been bored with it, and to me it looks like it belongs there) Red would be different, and maybe a tip of the hat to the poly engine, but turquoise would be better. The black motor plate helps it blend in a little.

I am one of those boring dudes also. I don't like all of the raw aluminum and polished bling. So, I stick with the stock look. Sort of....

i just painted a set of wheels with rustoleum "farm and implement" "massey-ferguson" gray spray bomb. that stuff covered very well, and turned out way nicer than i could have imagined. i might just spray an engine with that to try something completely different. says on the can it is a "superior" [ ] formula that is "excellent" coverage, chip resistant, color retention, and "more" [whatever that means]. the wheels i painted were blasted and etch primed, but still had pits. that stuff made most of the pits unnoticeable, except for the really large ones, but they will be covered with trim rings anyway. it only took two medium coats to cover, and it flowed out great !
