picked these up for only $7.50 !
they are obviously no good, but they look kinda neat.
not sure what year they might be, guessing around 1934 or so.

i figured i would bolt them together at the thermostat/upper radiator hose mount, then hang them from the rafters.
get some spark plugs and some chrome acorn nuts i can attach to either allen set screws or short headless bolts, glued into the head bolt locations with clear silicon adhesive.
as to being an easy fix, i'm not sure what you mean. the water jackets are super thin, and the cavitation holes on the bottom surface are really deep. shruggy
they are pretty cool though !
i have seen aftermarket aluminum heads of all brands, as have most seen, but this is the first ford script set of heads i have come across. as these were going to be scrapped [eek] i had to pay the approximate scrap price for them ! [and i think i got hosed on the scrap price. aluminum is down now. laugh2]

before blasting, the water jacket holes on the sides of the heads were very evident, as well as the cavitation [?] damage around the cooling ports.
they were super filthy from laying where ever they were stored, and the combustion chambers were black from carbon.
i figured there would be no real use in trying to save them, so in blasting, it would be the quickest means to clean them up.
i used the google to try to find out more about them, [using the casting numbers] but other than saying they were for an early flat head, nothing much was discovered.
i might try to find a cheap [if there is such a thing] multiple carb intake, and make a couple of brackets to bolt the intake and heads together.
this will be pretty neat beside my dual carb aluminum rambler head, and my J2 oldsmobile intake and carbs.

Weird heart shaped combustion chambers too.
Top surfaces look really nice for age.

I thought later heads had the coolant ports at the front and early heads had the coolant port in the middle?

(I know just enough about flatheads to get myself into an argument)

I was going to ask if you wanted to double your money but shipping from Canada would be expensive. grin

Those are super cool and will make a great wall hanger.

the quick way to tell early heads from the later ones, is the early heads 32-to early 38, had 21 studs holding them down.
in late 38, they went to 24 studs.
after that, there were other changes, but the 49-53 8BA head had the coolant/radiator hose placement at the front like you said.
the early heads did have the radiator hose connection in the middle of the head, and were 21 stud heads.
i can't explain why my heads are 21 stud heads, but have the radiator hose ports at the end. so shruggy

Maybe trucks were different ?
I would have thought a center passage would be better, but I guess not...

good question about truck heads.
as there were bunches and bunches of flathead engines used in all kinds of applications, who knows what the best inlet for the heads could be ? shruggy
at times, they were known to be somewhat difficult to cool, but then again, was it because of the heads, the water pumps, or ????
i will say one thing though. there is nothing like the sound of a straight piped flathead at full song ! boogie
