I had a 470 CI with 440-1's never got it on the dyno. But best car ran was 8.60 at 160 mph.
I did get my 500 CI, 440-1 with 871 blower on the dyno. 1300 HP 1050 TQ at 6800 12 lbs boost.

Nice article Andy. Did you ever get to test after the intake was worked over?
Dave Yes, the ported intake picked up 25 hp over the cast intake. I think the best we ever made with that 470 was 780 hp. That was a pump gas engine so we had to be super careful with the camshaft selection. Higher compression would've allowed us to make more power. I think we could've gone over 800 hp if we had put a little more compression in the engine. I've done quite a few 270 head engine since then but none have made that much power. Most engines we do are for street guy or bracket guys and neither of them want to break the bank to pick up the last 50 hp in a build. https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/dyno-tested-vacuum-pump-help-engine-make-power/ Nice power out of the small cube.. Thanks. It cost a lot of money and made a lot of power. The average BB Mopar that we see on the dyno make around 600 hp with TF240 heads and 700 hp with the larger TF270 heads. There isn't 100 hp difference between the heads, the guys with the 270 head typically run higher compression and big solid rollers., The 240 guys tend to run pump gas and hyd roller cams. Over the last several years it seems like there is always at least one BB Mopar with TF heads on the build board. Sometimes there are two or three of them stacked up in the queue. Very popular combination.

A friend finished a short deck BB with the Trickflow 270 heads for a customer earlier in the year. It was a twin turbo deal, no idea on the power, but I don't think it was a big boost thing.
I had to machine the heads for Jesel rockers, they were nice looking heads, a lot better than the Edelbrock stuff I'd seen.

Trick flow 270's, Max wedge. The 270’s were worth 45hp over the 240’s. Other than the intake being slightly different, the engine was the exact same. If you have hood clearance, the 270’s are a no brainer. On top of that they stated "each head step was a 20 hp gain over the previous one" meaning from a 906 to the TF 270's there is about 105HP difference.
