Griner did allot of testing to get the best shift timing and to reduce overlap. I have seen this in the past. Keith

This makes sense. The shift timing with the Tranzact valve body must have needed tweaking. Restrictor here, band adjustment there, clutch drum springs, etc.

Several years ago I swapped out a 727 with T/A reverse manual valve body, swapped in a 904 with a brake valve body( A&A) which I have always footbraked, car actually slowed down 7 or 8 instead of picking up a tenth or so I expected. I don’t think the convertor is off, in fact I feel it’s more “ right” than the one that was in it when I bought the car.


I've seen the same 60 foots from my car w/ two different 727s...one w/ a brake and one without. Both were Turbo Action valvebodies. twocents
