Another good guy, Curtis Taylor, Raceway Park weekly competitor, and his Trick Dodge.

Last I heard, Curtis is alive and well and has an even larger stable of Mopars and now resides in Virginia (I believe), far from Brooklyn, NY his original home base.

A bit of trivia: this 4-speed 1968 HEMI Road Runner coupe was originally purchased new in 1968 by the older cousin of a school mate friend of mine. It was driven on the street for a while then converted to a Super Stocker and run in the SS/D class beginning somewhere around 1969.

Fast forward to the late-1980s: I found out who the original owner was quite by accident one day at Raceway Park when I struck up a conversation with a guy named Fred who was hanging around this car in the pits. Fred told me he once owned a Hemi Road Runner--this one-- purchased it from a guy in New Brunswick named Jimmy Jackson. I exclaimed,"Hey, I know that car! It belonged to the cousin of a school friend of mine! I never saw it but heard about it." Fred went on to relate to me how his Road Runner was stolen a couple times in the late 1970s and was lucky to recover it both times.

Cab, I had Bob's old 70 Cuda Pro Stocker years ago. Don't know where it is now. This was maybe around 1990.

Pro as in PRO STOCK and not the vernacular used for a certain bracket racing class. Yes, that's what Pro Stock cars
originally looked like and just how far removed from the original concept of this eliminator so-called 'Pro Stock' cars
of today are. I have to point that out for the younger crowd lest they think this Duster is just another garden-variety bracket car.

If you seen these cars back in the day like this (then) kid did, you'd know just how bad-ass and exciting they were to watch.

There is a "Younger" crowd on Moparts? Who knew?

Is it just the camera angle or does that top picture show the Duster with the rear axle moved forward?

That would have been Illigal You'd probably find that the front wheels were moved forward as well. They (tech officials) checked the wheel base not the location so much. That’s what makes those cars so cool to look at as there are a bunch of "Adjustments" that on to themselves go un noticed but put one next to an off the show room floor car and you will see the adjustments

No I don't think so because that is Dragway 42 in Ohio and his car had a standard low rise factory style scoop. I think he races in Maryland and he can be found on facebook he doesn't post here much anymore.
