You know how many times ive been at the DMV and they see all is in order and an honest error was made and what they told me what to go do and come back? Not everything is fraudulent. Looking at the definition of fraud and fraudulent correcting an error in a transaction made by two people to complete the intended transaction is not fraud or fraudulent. Most now will process anything and let the fed title clearinghouse MTVIS? decide if there is an issue. Myself, I'd resign if. Copy the signature, lay it over to area needed, press hard with a pen and it should leave an impression to trace Might want to try a few practice runs until you feel comfortable with doing the real deal. Also may try 2 sheets of paper Forging signatures to create fraudulent documents is OK with you?

Where did they mention fraudulent document? Just trying to correct an "oversight".

I took a title like that go the local SoS office hoping they wouldn't say anything. The guy saw it, gave me a pen, and said he had go ho.in the office for a minute. He said he would assume the seller had walked in and resigned it.
It was for a $1500 motorcycle, not a high dollar car.

It was for a $1500 motorcycle, not a high dollar car. That's funny. When I was a young lad just starting out in power plants, we were doing a turbine overhaul as part of an outage. The factory service engineer and I were talking balancing and he pulled out this relatively brief factory booklet covering that and went through the process. I asked if the customer could get a copy and was told that only the service engineers could get them. Then he put the booklet on the table and looked at me with "the look" and said he was going to lunch and would be gone for about an hour. I still have that copy.

I'd consider it correcting an honest mistake that can create a hornet's nest if done any other way. As the others have mentioned, I to have been told by more than one DMV personnel to just step outside and sign on the correct line. I went through a fiasco in Ca. MANY years ago that was extremely frustrating and had me running on temporary tags for over 3 years due to the same exact reason. The car was then taken by a disgruntled b-t-h I had known. I knew where it was but couldn't retrieve it nor would the local police get involved as it wasn't legally in my name. Call it what you want but I got the pink slip (title) in my name and retrieved the car. BTW this was the short version of the story
