That looks painful, but could of been a lot worse. Definitely better once you get that shroud fitted. My fingers are never that clean even when I’m not working on the car ![smile smile](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/smile.gif)

Your very lucky it is not worse, more than one hot rodder, mechanic and others have lost fingers when they put their hands to near the fan with the motor running ![tsk tsk](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/tsk.gif) Me included ![realcrazy realcrazy](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/realcrazy.gif) ![whiney whiney](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/whiney.gif)

I bet that spawned a string of four letter words and I don't mean OUCH.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Aha, in a few years (20?30?) you won't hardly see the scar🤕 Yep, I broke the end bone of the same finger into 7 pieces and you can hardly tell now. Close to 30 years ago. When it happened you could see the bone where the nail should have been. Ahh just thinking about it right now made it throb a little.

Ouch! I cut my hand at the track years ago on a flex fan with the engine not running, got a few stitches. After that I made sure I have a shroud now, or electric fans. Your engine looks great!

as my old man taught me "smart a$$ery", i will state a couple of his favorite sayings : "I didn't feel a thing !" ![biggrin biggrin](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/biggrin.gif) and : "I'll bet ya lernt something now !" ![devil devil](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/devil.gif) anyway, i hope your finger gets better ! really ! you may, or may not, want to see the doc. i guess it just depends on whether or not you believe in greasy shop rags as first responder care. i have used shop rags my whole life on accidents like that for me, but for others, i recommend seeing the doc, unless your belief is like mine. hope it gets better soon ! ![beer beer](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/beer.gif)

I can only imagine what my old man would’ve said!! Thanks everyone for the kind words, still embarrassed and pi$$ed at myself! I think I’ll start another post for an electric fan, at least looking for a shroud for now. Wally.

Thanks John. Bought my Demon with my dad in ‘83 when I was 15. Been abused, neglected, forgotten about, now the last 5 years it’s getting a complete resto to drag race it the way I want it. Gotta figure we’re closer to the end than the beginning so doing it right this time. Got a ways to go, finger is a minor setback, but hoping it’s going to be a fun summer!
