Very radical build, can't even guess at the cost. Maybe $250K?

NOW THAT IS NICE!! Me I see a lot of A12 coupe/post car there but I'm very partial to A12's grin Hey look are those black 17+" wheels with dog dishes on that Resto-Mod A12-ish ROAD RUNNER. up Even no doggie bowls and just chrome lug nuts would look cool with those black wheels. There I said it. wink

up up up Three Thumbs Up

Too low.

I’d imagine $500K plus.

I didn’t really like the 6-pack scoop interpretation. Little 63-64 MW look in there.

The sad part of that car, is it started out as a survivor car, and the builder did this to it. Could have used a basic shell to start with instead of ruining a time capsule.

^^^ Exactly. It was a Survivor, apparently in near-mint condition, and pretty rare color combo as well.
The obnoxious fool and his money & ego could have used something else, especially with all the modifications done.

Obviously, that survivor car was for sale. You could have bought it and "saved" it. You didn't, the fault is all yours.

I somewhat regret passing on that car. It just didn’t do it for me. A super nice car, but had zero options, and I mean zero. Not even a sg rear. I don’t think I could be left it as a survivor, but I sure wouldn’t have chopped it up. I didn’t have the heart to make the changes I’d want. Obviously these guys didn’t have any hesitation. Really think they could’ve started with a basket case so the hobby would have an extra car, instead of a good one that already existed. It’s not like some extra bodywork would’ve broke the bank here.

I want my fair share

Strange it has Dodge type hubcaps vs a Plymouth design. I think I'd just run black steel wheels and chrome lug nuts?

Paint looks great. Rather have chrome bumpers instead of the carbon fiber myself.

I like the 68-70 B-body dash design and don't get the need to change them out like what seems to happen on so many of these types of builds.

Can't blame Kevin Hart for modifying a survivor IMO. I didn't read the article but I'm guessing KH didn't have a thing to do with finding that car. With his money he most likely left everything up to the builder. Yes it's a shame to take one of 84,000+ 1969 Road Runners in survivor condition and cut it up and make it into a Resto-mod, guessing it's not the last of nice survivors still out there but? Agree it's a shame but would guess it was the builders find?

Had a custom roadrunner been my desire, I'd have started with a taxi cab plain Belvedere. On the other hand I'm so jaded I walk right past show winning customs and muscle cars to look at cars that were every day common when I was young. shruggy

ZZ Top did the same thing with Cadzilla. You'd think with the extensive metal work they could have started with a less pristine example.

looks like a pretty nice build, with quality components.
however, i STILL DO NOT LIKE GIANT WHEELS WITH FORKLIFT TIRES ! down tsk realcrazy panic

i realize with big brakes comes big[er] wheels, but can't these types of builds tone it down a bit ?
i also realize handling is better with short sidewalls, but putting on 30" wheels just because you can is just plain DUM in my opinion.

just a crabby old man mumbling in his cornflakes................
your mileage will vary.

Agreed, If it was worth saving , maybe some one else should have stepped up and bought it.

I like it, at least most of it . Im not a fan of the wheel and tires choice. BUT Its not MY money either

HIS money HIS idea and went with it . Pretty cool.

That’s what this high dollar Pro Touring shop do.

They think if they are going to make a Pro Touring Charger R/T it’s has to be a real Charger R/T. I’ve seen clean 71 GTO convertibles get entire new frames and drivetrains, 70 Charger R/T 4spd 100% number matching buildsheet…just used the shell.

$30 to $40K blank canvas starting point isn’t much in a half million dollar build. And that group thinks that if you call it a custom Pro Touring 69 Road Runner… it’s got to start out that way and have a VIN that show that on the registration.
