For people who use(d) M/T ET Street R radials on the street, what sort of life in road miles would be expected? For me they'd mostly be used for driving the "old" Challenger to & from the track. Thx

I had some on the Charger, had about 4k street strip miles on them, still had almost full tread depth [ groove] but what killed them was my fault, would drive on the street in the summer VERY hot road temp, pull in the garage & park it, as a result not jacking up the car & putting on stands the tires got WAY out of round & unusable lessons learned the hard way , they HOOKED awesome, have M&H now, they hook good also but the Radial Street R drove much better on the street

...or you could pick up a set of Vehicle/Wheel Dollies...the benefit being: you get to move your ride around as need be w/o much fuss! That's what I did, but picked them up at our Canuck version of your HarborFreight...better yet, HF has these on clearance right now => Haul-Master Vehicle Dollies - 2 pc, and at $50 for a set (so $100 for the whole car) you can't beat that!!!

Thx Come on now Brad, you know it depends on the driver Do you do burnouts to impress the local cruise night gang? I ran the original ET Street Radials on my old Duster on the street and race on them also, I found out that those tires had a lot of rubber on them under the center grooves, a lot of rubber I didn't have the speedometer hooked up so no idea of exactly how many miles and runs I put on those tires, maybe 3000 street miles and 300 hundred runs I found out the hard way on the street that those tires would break loose going around a long curve at or above 65 MPH if I went to WOT and open the six pack Be careful please The same size bias ply ET Street wouldn't do that

Drove my Duster about 500 miles last summer and used up 1/3 of the tread. I was on it hard much of the time.

The R and the regular both have the same compound from what I understand, the differences are the rain grooves and the sidewall (R is softer).
My car had ~3000 miles on ET Street SS's and still had plenty of tread left, but they were something like 8 years old. Put a new set on and traction noticeably improved.

I don't know what size tire you plan on but if it is the 275/60 I would get a set of 275 Pros. They have a DOT number somehow and they work awesome. I bought a used set from a friend and they had 20 high 4 second 1/8 mile passes on them. So far I have 25 passes on them and a fair amount of street driving, they don't appear to have worn much if at all since I got them.

Not a daily driver, but will need to handle road trips of 60+ miles each way on track days.
The original MT ET Street Radial worked well for me; didn't necessarily last a long time, but performance was consistent right down into the wear bars. Not sure the current ET Street S/S is as good since the tread pattern is more street oriented, plus the new engine combination is a good bit stronger than before.
Edit: The ET Street Radial Pro is not a realistic option for me. I also know very little about M&H. Are they worth looking into?

The original ET Street Radial worked best at 17.5 psi on the track and 30 psi (+/-?) on the street; I think the street pressure might need to be a bit lower in the future to keep from wearing out the tires in the middle.
I'd hate to ruin a set of tires from the heat cycling of limited street use, but don't want to go back to swapping tires at the track, either.

The 60 mile one way would make me want to run a regular tire and change at the track, but you don't have the luxury of room for tires in a Challenger do you? My worst fear is always rain, but I am only 12 miles from our track so I chance it on the 275 pros.

Swapping tires at the track means I can't take a passenger with me. One wheel gets stuffed behind the rollbar and the other gets the passenger seat... it's a bit of a PITA, but I did it regularly before switching to the MT ET Street Radial. FWIW, those actually weren't horrible in the rain when they still had some tread depth -- much better than the BFG Drag Radials I tried before them -- but you did need to keep your brain engaged on wet roads.
I've got a new set of the original ET Street Radials that I bought when they were discontinued, so I do have something to use when the car's rolling under it's own power. They did well as dual-duty tires and still pulled 60s in the mid-to-hgh 1.4s., but now the car is gonna hit the tires even harder. It's their replacements that I'm thinking about now...

Tire pressure makes a big difference. I'm assuming you pump them up to 35 psi (or more) for the highway miles? I kept mine fully inflated when I drove around town. I used to worry about pressures and air my ET street Pros up for the street and down for the track. Then I realized they drive as well at 18psi as they did at 30. I just leave them at 18 and have never had any issues. I swap them out for new about every 2 years anyway. Since I quit spinning them on the street, they have worn much better.
