That bearing is known as the "pilot bearing", it replaced the older "pilot bushings" up
I had to replace pilot busing in a 340 crankshaft years ago due to the misalignment of the bell housing to the crankshaft bushing and ended up using the grease packed into the hole in the crankshaft where the bushing was installed, it worked (I used an old input shaft inserted into the bushing and drove it in with a brass hammer but it wasn't easy :hammer) I had to keep adding grease into the hole as the bushing was driven out by adding more grease up hammer
I wish those bearings had been available back in the 1970 and 1980, I would much rather use them than a bushing up wrench twocents:
