OK, most of us. Hell, Mopar Jamie might even be 40 now (shudders, also where is that guy?)

Anyway, today I went into Walgreens to buy some makeup remover for my daughter and a few things for myself. I got to checkout and the cashier asked if I get the "senior discount" - so I asked what's up with that?

Today (in store, all week online apparently) you get 20% off (with restrictions - lots of them) if you are 55 or older. That's not bad at all!

I never thought about it but I bet there a lot of those kinds of deals out there. Not for car parts, maybe, but do you know of any good ones??

yes, there are a lot of discounts for seniors, some at 55, more at 60, and then you hit the magic number 62......and I am a year and a half away from that number! whiney

Speak for yourself, Whippersnapper!

Verizon rep claims I'm eligible for a senior discount on unlimited data (which I could definitely use)
but their website doesn't support that notion. I need to either sit on the phone for 2 hours or, for
the ultimate old person experience, go talk to a human at the store.....

You young'uns crack me up laugh2
I turned 70 - a ridiculous number, seems to me - in October.
Dang, I'm way behind on claiming senior discounts...probably because I don't view myself as a senior grin
Guess I'd better start grinding, I'm already offering frank (but tactful) opinions laugh2

Around here, many of the young sales people automatically give "old people" the senior discount. It bothered me a bit when they started just doing it (some even before my time), but it didn't take long to get used to it. I'm past 65 now, so all of them apply now.
I consider it a badge of honor to have made it this far up in the years, in this crazy world. I also figure it is a discount of the overcharge they get from everyone, so I don't have a problem collecting all I can get. Gene

Wendy's gives a 10% Senior Discount on everything except value meals. You have to ask for it, they don't volunteer to give it.

I believe there are websites like the AARP that publish lists of senior discounts. I should take my own advice and check it out myself!

About the only time I get discounts is when I have my 77 yr old Mother with me. Like when we go out to eat. Sometimes I have fun with it, and ask "what about me?" (I'm 54). If they say no, I'll ask for a child's price since I'm with my Mom....... whistling biggrin

Dang you guys are young. I’m 77. That senior discount is old hat for me. I always ask for the military discount since the wife and I are both retired Air Force. 25 years each.

One of my favorite responses to people asking about getting old or other comments about age is I tell them if you live long enough you will get old up work shruggy
The alternative sucks even worse shruggy grin
i never thought about what I was going to do when I reach 70 Yrs. old, let alone 77 Yrs. old work
I guess I'll continue to do what I like, race and build Mopar motors and race cars boogie wrench

Get acknowledged everywhere I go. I think with the sign of the times it’s refreshing to hear the occasional thanks. As a vet, I usually don’t wear anything that identifies me as such however it been my experience that all those who have served presents themselves as vets. As far as senior discount, take what you can get.

The teenagers behind the counter at my local KFC started automatically giving me the over-55 discount... when I was 51 mad
Now I'm 60 so it doesn't bother me wink

I hear they are working on a senior GPS app. Not only does it tell you how to get where you are going, it will also tell you why you went there to start with.

That's some funny stuff. 59 here. When I first step out of my truck after driving for an hour my one knee is stiff, not painful, just stiff (arthritis?) and I look like I'm 80 for the first 20 steps smile

Sad getting old. So much I wanted to do. I consciously look at things knowing I'm too old to do that; change career, learn to scuba dive, chase old women smile

Come on Jim, We can chase them. But odds are we aint gonna catch one

My wife and I have been together over 30 years. Her hair is her natural color,,,,,just tweaked once in a while by her hair dresser ,

Mine is getting thin and has very little color anymore.
I guess we look far enough apart age wise I get offered Senior discount on a fairly regular basis . No complaints btw . She is 51 and has never even been offered a discount. I told her take it as a compliment

No kidding. Watching travel shows used to be "Ooh! I want to go there." Now it's "I would have like to have gone there." Not always because there isn't time to do it, but at 59 with 2 little kids what am I going to do in Ibiza?

Ibiza is a hot spot for the EDM scene. I'd love to go there and take part in that.

I'd go for the scuba diving. Not hard at all on your body, weightless when your in the water.
