Nice looking car and a good runner for sure. My cousin worked at an Oldsmobile dealer back in the 1970’s and bought a 1967 Cutlass and did the needed bodywork and painted it. It had a 330 engine with a slip and slide powerglide and beat my 1972 Cutlass that I towed my duster with probably over 50 times that we raced. Lol. Another friend bought a 1964 Cutlass (400 I think) and that sucker ran good too. I guess they were the sleepers, on of many back in that time. I wish I had more pictures of my 1972 as I loved that car.
1970 Duster Edelbrock headed 408 5.984@112.52 422 Indy headed small block 5.982@112.56 mph 9.42@138.27

Trovato is no slouch when it comes to engine building for sure. He runs NMCA with his personal car. He is also good friends with Dale Cubic who knows more about carbs than anyone I have ever met. Two great guys for sure, not surprised it runs a representative number on the track.

So he has an appointment for January to put the cage in. He will get it back for the Spring season in Connecticut. He ended up taking it to my buddy Frank. Frank is doing me a favor because he is booked solid and is normally not accepting any new work. He was going to have Mark Markow do it, but sadly Mark passed away in June. I did not know that till yesterday. I knew Mark from my younger days - back around 1980 his home built 67 Nova went 7.50's. He rolled it and destroyed it from my recollection. I graduated with his older brother who also sadly passed a few years ago. Our parents also knew each other back in the day. Bunch of Polaks from New Britain...... LOL!
RIP Mark........

No way GM A body with the same equipment 300-400lbs lighter. Heck I race with guys with Nova's and early Camaro's that are heavier than the average B body. I'm not talking guessed weight. I've weighed quite a few cars on real scales. Quote from Team Chevelle; Trying to get my 65 road legal with the big block/alum heads it has and need documentation of how much it weighed when new. Got it weighed in today, at 3570. Removed the stereo and junk in the trunk.. BBC Th400 12 Bolt w/rear swaybar Look at the weight of the Nova in the previous post. Doug

I raced a buddy's 65 Belvedere at Indy NMCA. 440, manual steering and brakes, no exhaust, 5 spoke Americans, Eddy aluminum heads, Eddy 2x4 intake, and 2 Eddy 650s. Pure street car, everything else is factory with full interior with bench seat. I weighed it with my 200lb but, 3560. Doug

Doug So his big block GM A body weighs 3570 with a 700 lb big block. That sounds pretty good. An olds engine is probably about 100 lbs lighter. Lots of Mopar B bodies are around 3800-4000 lbs. I realize some weigh less, but it seems pretty common for a GM A body to be in the 3700 range. But I guess you guys are right, thats not 3-400 either. I’m putting my B body on the scales tomorrow. I’ll let you know what that one weighs.

It does happen when the combo is right! My mate bought a doggy street-driven Chevy that ran tens and he put a 540ci Shafiroff in and it ran an EIGHT! Right motor 'on song' and you 'hook it up' and away you go... My Street Dart with a Koffel 547ci (400 iron block) motor ran mids eights on pump gas, no NOS (1000hp)! (1200hp with some NOS, low 8's) Did cheat a bit with pro-Mod tyres lol...

Our '69 Roadrunner in full street trim/interior, 11" drum brake car + a 5 point cage, with torque thrust alloys driven on to a council weigh bridge weighed 3836lbs with driver, approx 160lbs....approx 12 gal fuel cell, caltracs/mono's, tied frame, 727/Dana 60, Mega Block 589 motor, ally heads/TTI's and just a fibre hood.

aren't those gm cars full frame? Yeah, their intermediates and fullsize cars (A/B/G) were full frame. The Novas and Camaros/Firebirds are unibody.

Doug guess I dont feel so bad that my 64 is 3530 with me in it Certainly plenty of places to drop weight but like it how it is This is my 4th 64/65 similarly equipped and all are basically similar weight to this one. Last one had a few fiberglass components and alot of the street stuff removed, wiper horns wiring etc and was about 200lbs less. My last 65 street car with Indy SR 451 combo was 3770. Ran low 10's on pump swill. Current one is a we bit faster.
