Why do you want to do that? Just keep it from going into lock up.

But I’d have to use the stock lock up converter (low stall) and not a higher stock type stall

A "lock up" converter can be used without it locking up(not engaging the lock up solenoid). If you want to put a high stall converter it will work(check compatibility) but it won't lock up. Lock up is = to 200 rpm so you will use more fuel during trips. Get a lock up high stall converter if you want both.
