Hi, I just bought a 1974 D100 short bed on ebay. It has been lowered slightly with van lower control arms, and it has a Gen3 Hemi/A518 conversion. An awesome score! (sorry no pics yet)
I found a set of wheels on eBay, but they are the last set available. They are 18X8 with a 4.5" back spacing. Does anyone know if these wheels will fit?
I worry about the rear because the leaf springs are mounted outboard of the frame rails.
Thanks!

Cool! Thanks Adventurer. My Truck has Adventurer emblems on it! The wheels that I want to buy are only available in a 4.5" back spacing. The tires will have to be the correct diameter, so they don't throw off the odometer. Otherwise, I guess I could change the speedo gear, if that is possible in a 46RE train. I'll get some pics when the truck gets delivered to me.

Yes, they’ll fit with room to spare. If you run the van LCAs 15x7 is as wide as you want to go. Make sure your steering box is beefed up. Area around the box tends to crack. Wide wheels and tires puts a lot of stress in that area.
Here’s a pic of my 74 which I sold recently. I ran cop wheels, 15x7 on the front with 255/60s and 15x10 with 275/60s.
I flipped the axle and replace it with a 8.75, dropped the rear 5 inches. Ran the van LCAs in the fron which dropped it about 3 inches.

Great tip on frame strengthening around the steering box. This truck already has the van LCA's. So, here is the update for everyone. The truck was delivered to day with wide tires... not the skinny tires in the bay pictures. The rear tires are 275/60/15. 27" tall and 9" of tread. PERFECTO! The front ires are 245/60/15. 26" tall 8" of tread. The ires that I want to buy for the new 18'x*8" rims are... 255/45/18. 27" tall and 9" of tread. So I have the answer to my original post. Thanks guys! Now I will attach some pics after I send this reply.

Dang it! The files are too big! I don't know how to reduce them. I will have to ask my friend how to do it, because I just tried watching a few youtube tutorials, and I'm still clueless!

Wheels and tires arrived too. I'm speechless! 18x8 with 4.5" back spacing. I ordered 3-bar spinners for them. (not here yet) Gotta have spinners! Tires are 255/45/18. All will fit perfecto like I hoped for!

Well, here is the last installment on my truck.
As to my original question... the wheels and tires fit great. I also added Hemi emblems to the hood, and a decal on the air cleaner.
The nascar style exhaust tips and Walker turbo mufflers sound great! I took the truck to a car show, and it received a lot of attention. The transformation after the mods is awesome!
The only problem is that the Hemi likes to spin the tires to the horizon. Um, uh, OK, that is not a problem, it's a rolling amusement part ride! Ha ha!

What seats are in it? I'd like to upgrade my 77. Interested in those seats too. Kind of look GM seats. On the back wheels, do you think you could have gotten away with an 18x9.5 (4.5 backspace)? I am looking at some similar wheels that would be the same specs as yours in the front but they also have an 18x9.5 size for the rear. I might have missed it but is the truck lowered in the rear via an axle flip on top of the leafs?

Interested in the seat source and how this thing was lowered.
