I gave up on it a LONG time ago (like....third episode?), but I wouldn't cancel my MT On Demand over it. There's other (better) shows on there to watch.

My feelings exactly I subscribe to Motortrend On Demand for many other shows, I have not watched Graveyard cars for a lot of years even though I really want to like it.

I was actually thinking it has gotten better. I thought Mark had tuned down his "comedy" quite a bit. I've never avoided watching because of him although I do think sometimes he goes too far. An all Mopar show is so rare and I'm not going to miss out on some nice cars and I still really enjoy seeing them and the work being done on them. IMO some other shows are far worse with their flat billed over the ears baseball caps and non stop b.s. and same old builds just different cars (Chebby, Chebby, Chebby, Phord, Chebby, Chebby, Chebby, Phord).
Facts are stubborn things.

Could any of you guys work for MW without punching him out? Good thing he writes the paychecks or else there would be a mutiny. He's just a goofball with a unique sense of humor all for the camera. I've worked for people way more obnoxious than that with no sense of humor at all. I see it the same way. The guy likes to have fun. The latest episode, Mark quoted a dialog from a movie that I'll bet MOST people would never get. It was Alec Baldwin from Malice.

I don't complain about Mark's antics, no other make of car has a show dedicated to it. Exactly, which is why I watched all along (and honestly will continue to do so). I just have no interest in seeing the build of any other brand, truck, Camaro, Chevelle etc. I may watch a coupe episodes of some random show for a cool mustang but unfortunately I take the whole Mopar or No Car thing too far lol. Don't get wrong, I love all muscle cars, but I don't have enough interest in others platforms to watch shows dedicated to their restoations. I cherry pick various episodes on different shows which feature Mopars but that's really about it. Anywho, I love that we have a show like this, I just wish there was more tech stuff to it. Maybe its a case of having exhausted everything there is to elaborate on with respect to 64-71 Mopars and simply trying to find other ways to engage the audience (and if that is working for him then that is great). I noticed this in their random trivial questions during commercial breaks. It used to pertain to Mopar history and tech but now deals with older cars that were featured on their older shows. But after 14 seasons, I understand them wanting to introduce new types of material. And maybe I am being too picky here, but even this new format seems a little forced. Before, a build spanned over an entire season with various deeper tidbits into the restoration process. Now, entire restorations seem to be crammed into one episode (which could work sans all the jokes) as though they are satisfying a customer's expectations of having significant airtime. Something that was pitched to me when I approached Mark about restoring one of my cars. Again, not hating on the show or coming across as too critical (I hope) - I love what this show has done for us. I'm just hoping the show could ease off on the theatrics. It really has a ton of potential and I'd still ask him to restore a car of mine over anyone else. Regarding the stuff posted on youtube, I watch it religiously as I do favor the older shows

I have yet to meet a person who has met him in person that has said a negative thing about him or his family. Further, he and Alyssa are incredibly accommodating and very engaging. I have heard from multiple people that they are very kind and salt of the earth type. Members of my immediate family have been treated like first class when they stopped at GYC. Not a negative thing to say about MW or any of his family on that front. If I ever got to a point where I was finincially secure and did not need to work, I would seriously offer to intern there for free just to learn from the best.

Have any of you heard about the dildo episodes?
Apparently guys that work there and that were not on camera took an adult sex toy and placed it in v the background, on tool boxes and shelves. This appeared in numerous episodes.
You tube has a highlite reel of it appearing on TV.

Again I don't understand so much criticism for him. YES, I could work for him, in fact it would be a dream! Working for a Mopar fanatic, with a Mopars only resto garage and a guy who obviously is a legitimate Mopar guy since he was a kid! And you can tell he's a sentimentalist by his frequent revisiting his childhood with pictures and returning and his friendships. So he gets goofy, big deal. He seems to have a heart, a since of humor and be a decent guy. In this screwed up world I'll take him over 95% or more of what I come across and again DREAM JOB working for him. He doesn't have to have tatts all over his neck and arms, spiked hair, stupid bball cap and other ridiculous clothing that's age inappropriate. I'd hang out with Mark and talk Mopars all day. Same for Fantomworks Dan Short but I'd take Mark first because of the Mopar connection. I think it's super easy to be a critic from the keyboard. They are trying to manage a business, pay bills, satisfy TV producers and handle all the stress with these and that's not easy.
Facts are stubborn things.

Its a show that features Mopars, how many other shows on TV do that? Lots of shows feature Mopars. Roadkill and Roadkill Garage especially does tons of Mopars. Car Fix does Mopars. Garage Squad does Mopars Heck even All Girls Garage does Mopars. Or did you mean Mopars and nothing but Mopars? I don't mind other makes because you know there is more than one way to do things and sometimes even the other guys have a better idea.

Occasionally, I watch a re-run on their YouTube channel. The first 2 or 3 seasons were just an offshoot of Orange County Choppers-type of humor and just terrible😆

I've actually tried to watch the show a couple of times. I usually make it a few minutes and then switch to a channel that has a show on about watching paint dry. NOBODY can listen to that clown for more than a few minutes without getting sick to their stomach. Thought I would be interested due to the subject matter, but the head guy makes it totally unwatchable.

I think I watched about 1 1/2 episodes of that show way back when, I couldn't deal with the head idiot's antics, so I never watched again. I can't believe the show is still on.

. Interesting to note that GYC has never has a car in OE judging. That usually quiets down the "Take it to GYC" crowd. Usually.

Phantom Works... there's a reason its not on anymore except in repeats... I happen to know that the production company ended up paying someone else to redo a car they did after the customer wasn't pleased with the outcome. The car was redone here in N.J. .... I get a kick out of seeing Tony from Tonys Parts on GYC I remember him when he lived in Orange County N.Y. and raced a blue GTX at my local track before moving to Delaware, the GTX is still around but I haven't seen the acquaintance that owns it since buying from parts from him a few years ago. I like seeing the oddball / rare cars that Chasing Classic cars come up with and redo. I just saw a new show last night... Rust Valley Resto saw a few Mopars and the guys are real characters.

I liked fantomworks but man a lot of people have deep pockets. SOme of the prices seemed ok for the amount of work the cars needed but I guess if they focused on the lower priced jobs it wouldn't be much of a show.
I also like Restoration Garage, there's usually some interesting project going on and shows people actually working without the stupidity factor of some other shows. I watched some of the Fantomworks. In my opinion, the guy was a hack. Some of the work he did was beyond questionable. In the end, when they tallied up the bills for the customers, most of the time I would have walked away and left the car. Prices were nuts for sub-par work.

Dad would DVR it so I could see it when visiting. I liked it because they did more than muscle cars, unique cars today that were common then. I seem to recall a '65 GTO collision repair that ran to $66,000? Adding factory air conditioning to a '55 Cadillac? They didn't show 5% of the frustrations with that project. They kept the contrived drama and BS to a minimum, liked that as well.

I still say that these are TV shows and it's super easy to sit back and judge not being the one going through the process, long hours, stress, and all that goes with it. Also, what is supposedly the final product we see is quite likely not really what the customer's final product. They have to wrap up an episode and very well may continue work on the car.
P.S. Very cool old school pics Tony. THOSE were the days!

Hey Tony! I Couldn't remember if it was a Road Runner or GTX .. I bought some parts from Mickey a few years ago and he still had it then but I haven't seen him or the car at the track for awhile now.

I saw that too on the dashes. The blonde producer office gal (can T remember her name) emailed or PMed me. Few times with questions. If they could film.Mark less show would be BETTER as far as the blonde girl, there used to be a character on the show named Holly, besides her Marks Daughter Allyssa is the only other girl i can recall. As far as them sending out the dashes, on an e-body its just the cluster and switch panels, and the same for some b-bodies, while sometimes on b-bodies it is the whole assembly depending on what kind of time frame theyre working with i dont know of another shop that restores their own gauges (except of course Mike Mancini's American Musclecar restorations that uses their inhouse partner company instrument specialties). its quite a process the instruments have to go through (silkscreening, plating, calibration, etc) and unless the shops are just cleaning and putting new decals on the face or installing new reproduction gauges (neither of which is a good thing) i dont know of any resto shops going through the whole proper gauge restoration process themselves as far as none of their cars being OE judged, thats not as much a reflection of their work as much as it is a product of the customer not supplying assembly line type parts and not wanting that end result. and lastly, i can say this. Graveyard Carz restoration charges are about 1/2 of most shops and their prices include parts too! so there are no open ended never ending price escalating to infinity like i hear about so frequently from customers who have gone through horror restorations. i know they have a long wait list and restoration time, but Mark doesnt hide that from customers either.

We have all the same shows down under, we also have Nicks Garage from Canada which is very popular, how do you rate that show?

One question I have on GYC, what is the deal on the dozens of cars sitting outside? Are those all customers cars awaiting their turn getting restored at the shop? And if I was sending them my project, would I feel good about it sitting outside in the elements deteriorating for several years before he finds time for it? I wouldn’t be thrilled, with having my rare Mopar sitting out there in the parking lot, for years. Whatever good parts that are left in the interior will be toast. Ideally, they should be parked in a warehouse.

And if I was sending them my project, would I feel good about it sitting outside in the elements deteriorating for several years before he finds time for it? some are customer cars, some are Marks, and some are parts cars about a year or so ago they put up a HUGE outside tent/garage that holds dozens of cars, and, he just got a very large building to also store cars inside and any deterioration is really only affecting the amount of work GYC has to do, the price quotes are already locked in with customers, so there isnt any additional charge to them regardless if it suffers from any deterioration.

Maybe Mark is like some of us, myself included, and he can't help himself and buys up some Mopars with big dreams and that's why he has so many in his yard. I have to admit if I had a lot of space I'd have so many lined up.

Ive watched maybe an hours worth of the show ,,,,and that was spaced out over several shows over several years. So one could say Ive never really 'tuned in ' so to speak. at least not intentionally
I simply couldnt get past the clown act to feel it was anything close to serious The first several seasons were focused on drama and they’re difficult to watch. To Worman’s credit, he did listen to viewers on FB, Twitter, etc. and he added more technical information and less BS.

Can't remember the last time I watched it, then yesterday I saw it was on. Starting on a '68 GTX. Changed the channel after 15 minutes. Too much BS.

....., maybe cover some of the national shows and just talk to some owners.......
Worrman doesn't allow his employees to attend any car show, A cast member told me that. Beside, Mark is afraid to fly, he won't travel to any major shows.

Tony, I won't ask what you're paying to have your car done but what is the turn around time?? A few years Mark does allow his employees to make appearances at cars shows/events. Since they would be appearing as a member of GYC the arrangements have to be made through GYC, not a promoter circumventing GYC and contacting the employee directly.

Tony, I won't ask what you're paying to have your car done but what is the turn around time?? Bump. If you're interested why not call Mark? No two jobs are apples to apples, so Tony's turn around time is likely to be different than yours.

My friends car has been there 6 1/2 years and that A 12 car featured recently was there since season 2 which was 9 years ago.

Maybe if you didn't have a hidden agenda and asked the question more completely, like "how long was your car there total?", you would have gotten a different answer. I took your question as how long did the restoration take, not how long has it been there. Dave's A12 Bee has been done for well over a year maybe 2. But i agree it was still too long. Do you also know how much the restorations cost? ALOT less then just about any other shop would have charged.

Maybe I should have phrased the question like this: How long does a car sit there deteriorating before work is started? If its 2-3 years and the resto takes 2 years that's 5 years , totally egregious. What's the turn around time at your shop for a full resto?

I actually have come to enjoy the show quite a bit...In the beginning it was a little rougher but that was because I believe Mark or a non professional was producing it. The first few seasons had a lot of drama between a few main cast members but since they departed the show, it has become much more enjoyable to watch. I konw sometimes Mark likes to joke around and use cheesy quotes but I think it just adds to the show most of the time. Kinda like the show, "the office"...if you didn't like that show, you probably wont like this one. I konw some folks may not enjoy marks antics but at least you konw he doesn't take himself to serious. I like that he is committed to providing quality restorations of mopars whether it is oe style or modified. I konw that sometimes he makes some mistakes on what he says but Tony in the captions will correct him At the end of the day, there is no other shows going this indepth on any Chrylser products. There are tons of Ford and Chevy cars but not anywhere near that amount of mopar. I understand that not everyone likes the show but what is the alternative ? No mopar show ? Or a resttoration show just like every other show which features all makes ? I know in the more recent seasons , Mark has toned down the antics and tried to tailor the episodes to what viewers have requested. I will keep watching the show for as long as it is on.

I like the show and the cast/staff they have now. I don't mind some of the antics (movie quotes, etc) but the cartoons are not my favorite. I like to learn more about the cars and the hobby and I do learn some from watching the show. I do wish they would show more technical body/paint work such as when they replace panels how they ensure a good fit and how they fix paint issues such as debris in paint, or how they assemble a car and paint bolt heads after the fact.
I like when Tony is on the show as well. Seems like a healthy and fun rivalry. Absolutely!!!

watched the show tonight with tony d and his wife, not sure why they put a black headliner in a plum crazy white interior white vinyl top white stripe challenger, mine is the same except with a factory white headliner and i chose to not put the vinyl top back on it, maybe it was there personal preference, also you guys do realize that part of his (mark) antics are aimed at some of the very people on various innerweb sites that make fun of him or nit pick his work, but those who do should not let that go to their already over inflated heads.

You said their turn around time was egregious, so can you do better? How can any of us complain about things we don't have the ability to do? We can either rebuild these cars completely ourselves and the quality is dependent on our own abilities, or source out work. If you choose to source out work, you forfeit your ability to complain. I complained about body work taking forever as do most people...well if we don't like it we can buy sanding blocks and sealers and have at it.

I tried it after seeing this thread and they make it hard with the bs. Like the mopars, need no banter fellas.
Found one called CarFix. That one I can take seriously so far.
I want my fair share

Stop playing the cartoons. Stop showing the filming crew or behind the scenes guys. NOBODY cares what the pencil neck geek producer thinks. This is a car program. EXACTLY!!^^^^^^^^ I watch when I can, and DVR the rest. It comes down to this; where else can I see Mopars of all body styles being worked on, and most of which I will never be able to afford/own. Having a T/A, I liked when they did about a 6-7 minute overview of the 70' T/A.

I like the guy. He is one that I'd like to hang out with. Some people on this forum, despite what they think, have very little sense of humor. I'm with you

watched the show tonight with tony d and his wife, not sure why they put a black headliner in a plum crazy white interior white vinyl top white stripe challenger, mine is the same except with a factory white headliner and i chose to not put the vinyl top back on it, maybe it was there personal preference, also you guys do realize that part of his (mark) antics are aimed at some of the very people on various innerweb sites that make fun of him or nit pick his work. Probably relies on the same info/facts that he used when he applied the R/T decal in the middle of this Challenger's hood....... Yup. If Worman didn’t constantly crow about being this amazing god of mopar knowledge and ability, I wouldn’t comment on his goofy show. I like Tony D, but his argument holds no water. Every premier shop has at least one build they hang their hat on strictly to show off their abilities. Worman’s claim to accuracy in restoration work begs that he put his time and money where his mouth is and produce an OE Gold certified car rather than boasting while cranking out budget restos. Constantly saying you know it all and never once demonstrating it is beyond annoying.
I’m listening.

Friday night, I turned on GYC while throwing some photos up on Flickr. Two episodes, one mostly on the '66 Hemi Charger, the other mostly on the '69 RT/SE. On one of them, Worman did the entire trivia answer segment in his grade-Y Stallone impression, so roughly four minutes of the show taken up with "Urruh ruh ruh ruh, bluh ruh urruh urruh uuuhh." Not actual mumbled words, just "ruh ruh ruh" noises. (Grade-Z is just saying, "Hi, I'm Sylvester Stallone" in your normal speaking voice.)

I do not dislike Mark or anyone else on the show but would like to see less of them and the Dugie history. They should go i out and get a few cokes or beers after work and talk about old times between themselves. The whole time thet are tellimg stores they could show some cars in various stages that would better fodder. You can see them in the background while they tell you about nonsense that no one cares about Even just a quick look see of them like when guys do junkyard walks would be better

I would like to see more in depth technical scenes on engine/suspension builds...and better trivia questions, than about what was shown on a past episode, as in: "do you remember what engine was in this1970 Charger we showed you eight years ago?" That needs to go! And what happened to the FE5 Ralleye Red '71 Demon they showed one episode? I know Mark doesn't care for A bodies as much as B and E body cars, but at least show more of the Demon you started to work on? Yes I do remember what engine was in the 70 Charger, it was a Hemi, Mark's engine build failed and the engine was pulled out and had to be completely rebuilt since.

There was a thread on For B Bodies Only that the owner of the 70 Hemi Charger R/T pulling the engine and sending it out to be rebuilt again. I don't remember the exact details, but I don't think that the engine had more than 500 miles on it.

No different assembling than any other B/RB engine other than it's unique head/rocker design and crank cap bolting, the only areas I can think of that cause some running issues are to assure proper intake sealing and proper re-torqueing of the intake after some time on the engine, and removing/deleting the spark plug compression washer before installation to avoid tube distortion/oil leaks/burning, there's little quirks here and there on assembly along with newer design/retrofit assy products to improve the HEMI on the market depending on your build.... and like any engine, esp today, proper cam break in is paramount... it's amazing how some have no clue to breaking in a cam, I actually watched one owner "idle" his newly built/installed $30K HEMI for "break in" for 30 minutes while he fiddled with timing, carb adjustments, carrot snapping/etc...would not heed any advice/warnings as he was one of those know it all experts, the cam was wiped and the results were fatal to the engine with no more than 3 hrs total run time.... total tear down/rebuild because of cam trash throughout the engine MikeG

Ha ha...I would love to give a big fat "I told you so" to that arrogant guy. I love it when a "smart guy" gets his ass handed to him. PLEASE! Don't you know in today's very sensitive society you should not use the word "fat"? It should be a "big full figured 'I told you so' to that arrogant guy".
