I have not been super impressed with the brand you are having trouble with. My three choices for a dist these days are factory w/ a Pertronix, MSD, and no distributor at all.
I dig the new wheels. Always wanted a set of fly's or super tricks but the street driving seems to do them in.
Nothin like burning up a pile of cash to enjoy the last month or two of nice weather. That's a gearhead thing right there lol.

Just a heads up my Hole Shots didn't do well on the street, they developed a crack in them. The rears have been fine but one of the fronts cracked. They do say not for street use and I did use them on the street but just a heads up, keep an eye on them. Mine cracked in a way that it didn't leak air, but it made a creaking sound.
Like weight durable skinny wheels aren't super common. I think that is why you see so many billet specialties street lites, they are only 2lbs heavier and they are designed for street use. That is what I replaced my holeshots with.

I hear that now, after the fact...So I am back to MSD & Taylor wires..Its funny because I did my own little study on their improved HP claims due to low resistance wires....Their +$200 set vs. my crappy out of the box Pro Comp $89 wires...No change in ET...Same day change at the track....I wouldn't even mention it if he had warrantied part of my loss... I said the same thing 15 years ago and got bashed for it. Did a back to back same day test and saw absolutely no difference. I prefer the MSD wires also.

So on the Hole Shots, is the crack thru the center hub?

I have to be honest with you guys, there is an interesting back story to this little saga I have not mentioned that has played out over and over again over the years. Only about four people know about it. But this car has a habit of weird break downs like this. If I drive it some more this year, I bet you will see somthing else like this happen...
The back story is, way back when this car was raced either late 70's or early 80's, they were loading it on the trailer, and it came off the front of the trailer and pinned the kids father between the car and truck and it killed him. I was told this from the owner who had it back in '92 and he gave me a collection of pictures of him and his brother restoring it I still have today. We believe it was the owner of the trans shop that was painted on the side of it that they painted over that was the person involved in the accident.
Since then, its like anytime you take the car anywhere weather driving or racing it, it has a break down...Its been that way since I have owned it. We believe, the spirit of the guy killed tries to keep it from hurting anyone else by stopping it from running...My GF didn't believe me at first, but after years of weird things happening, she is positive about it now...
I figured I would let you guys in on that little bit, and one of these days, I will have to research it some more, as I have the old pictures with the name of the shop on the side. But I am pretty sure a bunch of it is true. Some aspects of the car back up the fact it hit somthing at one point a long time ago. It wasn't the trans shop owner. You have Tom Fisher's old car. Tom ran it in SS/FA and SS/GA. Original '70, converted to a '71 when Tom was racing the car. Car then went to Wael "Hemi Dave" Shahadeh. It was his Father who was killed in the accident. Dave is no longer with us either, had a stroke in 2012.

I never saw this car converted to 71 trim, but others I have so that would be new.

So on the Hole Shots, is the crack thru the center hub? Now it was in one of the outer shells. But it cracked between the bolts and the bead of silicone that seals it all together. So it didn't leak air, but it did make a creaking sound and it was VERY hard to see. I actually saw it when checking the front tire pressure at a test and tune. I figured it had been there for a long time at this point so I finished racing and drove home lol.

So....Went to the last big car show of the season with borrowed set of front rims with my old tires mounted to them from a buddy....get all the way in after a long line where I kept the car off as much as possible and went to park it and temp was 197 and it blew the upper rad hose off.....
Well, I spent an hour cleaning off the hot anti freeze off everything I detailed the night before...What a mess...Re-attached the hose, and filled the rad back up it took almost 3 gallons so I knew it didnt empty eveything there were a couple gallons still in the system....Enjoyed the show....Fired up and left the show, went a bout a mile down the road, and temp started to climb quickly, and as I pulled over, it blew the upper hose off again...Now stranded, calle d my mom who stopped in and was still leaving and she found me by the road side.....Borrowed her car while she kept an eye on mine, went home and grabbed the truck and trailer...
I suspect either the ARC switch is bad or I fried the relay to the pump and fan cause neither are working. Only my secondary fan works.
Anyone still not believe I own a cursed car?

Looks great Randy! Hopefully the gremlins will relax and let you enjoy the car for a while!
