FWIW my mom bought a brand new 1977 Aspen SE station wagon...came with the 2bbl "Super" slant six, and "deluxe" wire wheel covers. laugh2
On a side note, everytime she would go to work at Hudsons dept. store, some azzhole would steal her wire wheel covers! After about the third time, she had the dealer install just standard hub caps. rolleyes
Also, a buddy of mine used to own a "77 Aspen R/T green on green, with the factory center console/bucket seats. His had a 318 4bbl. He did a little work, to the 318, and it was a peppy car, for what it was.

Dang those thieves. She should've put some pepper spray on those wire wheel covers laugh Little later when Mr. Thief rubbed his eye, ohhhh the burn

Facts are stubborn things.

Looks like b.s. to me but I dont know these cars that well

In 1979 the Road Runner package required the 318 2bbl with the 360 4bbl optional.
In 1980 the Road Runner package came with both the slant and 318 (the 360 was no longer available)

A friends neighbor had a 1980 slant RR, red, with gold stripe accents.
Nice looking car, tan interior, wheels with trim rings, we couldn't believe it was a 6 'till we checked the VIN.
I'd take one today, kind of like the 1980 front end.

Just like any other Hot Rod. If you want it to be quicker, you have to modify it. This is a 76 Super Pak Road Runner option car I bought in 77. Ran 11.07@122 in street trim at Norwalk a few weeks ago.
