Doug , my megablock was rehoned a few times and was 4.5043 when i put it together to build the 550 cube combo last year. I still had to file fit the rings quite a bit. I calculate that i could have gone out to 4.508 and still get .025 end gaps using 4.505 rings. Or you might be able to go a bit bigger with a gappless top? I had my 4.500 pistons coated by line2line if you remember. No sense taking your block out to 4.530 if there is a way around it.

I took mine out to 4.510" from 4.500" last year. No problems w/ rings...unless there's none on the shelf now, which is very possible.

The problem is if you want thin rings. You can get .043" but the oil ring is the tough part. I talked to Kevin at Total seal last week. Since its getting sleeved it may move enough that 4.510 may not clean up anyway. Its already at 4.505". .9mm are available in the 4.530". Anyway pistons are ordered.

I have .9mm top second 3mm oil that i am filing to fit now. The date of manufacture was 6/20 .for 4.500 bore. I bet i took over .035 off those top rings to get .024. Total Seal.
