Thank you all for the input. At this point I have started the porting. I have removed the majority of the cloverleafs and I and going to cut back the two dividers like Wilson did in Andy's intake. I will not be extending them due to the fact that I cannot Aluminum weld and do not really have the budget to have someone else do it. Unfortunately, my comparison will not be real scientific. based on a completely different engine combination. But like my late dad used to say "God hates a coward!" So I am letting the chips fly!!!!!! What is the worst thing that can happen? I screw up a perfectly good intake! LOL!
Also I would post pictures but launching the space shuttle remotely from my phone is easier than posting picks on this site.
Thanx 451 Guy

Yes GOOD...if you measure the divider-wall length, you will have a gage to make them all the same length. This is similar to what Wilson did. Most of my time spent IIRC was 'port-matching' because as i remember it, it was all over the map BAD. Also as evident by the latest data...LEAVE A BURR FINISH in the manifold.

I used a 4 inch aluminum cut off disk in a grinder. The one I used was slighty used to reduce the diameter a little. I cut wide if that makes sense. I then did some rough shaping with a file. Then i started to conture with a aluminum rotary burr. Now i am still trying to figure out how I am going to trim the runner divider!

We've used an early 4500 440-3 that appeared to be just a plunge cut, 4150 version. It was cut in 2 horizontally, the clover removed, welded and blended. We eventually swapped that out for a 440-3X both these manifolds had distribution issues with cylinders # 1 & 2 running leaner than the rest. We improved this with an old school trick of grinding a couple of grooves at the entry to the runners of 1 & 2.
