My factory tach seems like it wants to work. The needle moves a bit and I can hear it ticking in there with engine speed.
Have any of you guys pulled one of these apart?

What exactly are you seeking to find? I have a junk tach like that but it would take some digging to find it.

I'd like to get it fixed.

I'm running a Pertronix 3 ignition system.

Thanks

I think if you want a mulit-strike ignition you're stuck with MSD and their tach adapter. Or find a way to put modern tach works behind the original face?

I'll do that. It's a 55 year old tach that hasn't run in 40 years. I guess that I should have been a little more specific, or a lot more. lol

The thing might be gummed up and need an overhaul, who is a good person to talk to about the mechanicals in these things?

Thanks

Only other thing i could suggest it to hook it up to a point ignition. I don't know if they had sending units or not so I would recommend looking at a factory service manual and wiring diagram. The one in my mother's 65 worked flawlessly for years until it the car sold in 1998 or so.
