Was the Victor headed build what made you chose them?
How is their turnaround time?

I have known Jack( the owner’s) dad for years. Have raced with Jack at different times over the years. He is a Mopar guy and racer.
His attention to detail is almost fanatical. I like that.
His shop partner worked for Tony Bischoff for years. Before that Rousch.
They have a lot of smarts.
I had very modest goals for this project. I have zero doubt it will run as good as its supposed to
They excel in machining and very good valve jobs
Turnaround time wise, they were able to get right at my stuff, i took it up there in November and told them no hurry.
Not sure how backed up they are now. Were doing a predator motor when i dropped off the valve covers the other day, had 8 or 10 other motors.

I think you'll be closer to a 10.50 with more MPH.

Heads are too little. They only go low 270’s at the max cam lift.
And i have small tube headers(1 5/8)
Had a similar combo years ago, ran 10.74 best ever at 123.60. Little bigger heads, similar cam, more lift, same intake.
I think 10.70’s is pretty optimistic, we will see. Might run good 1/8 numbers, but currently probably have too much gear for 1/4.

You talking about 2.10 intake valve Indy 360-2 heads?
250?

That is a HUGE head compared to an Edelbrock head

Yes, i think they were 360- 1 with the 2.10 valve. Just looking at my old notes the intake port was at 229cc and i ran a 268/272 solid roller with .421/.421 lobe lift and on a 108. Compression was only 11.25:1. I once ran 10.38@131mph with that at 3300#.

Your Indy’s went 325 max. Not 250. Unless you were kidding on this thread

improvements that could be made (360-1)? [Re: bwhackd34] #1733650 01/19/15 04:18 AM

228cc port, 60cc chamber and the intake valve has been unshrouded some. intake as of now flows 325@.700. the cam is .712/.688 on 106lda. these are

yes and no. I dont have my flow numbers so i'm not sure, but i only remember 250 max flow. I did have Dwayne Velder fully port them on my last effort and had these on the engine that blew up on the dyno with the cam you listed. They were slightly damaged. so i had them repaired and sold them and the rest of my small block stuff at that time. I moved on to big blocks after that. If that engine would have survived it would have been a little bad ass. It was 13.5:1 compression and i had a Holley t ram for it too. I'll see if i can find my old flow numbers.

An Indy -1 head flows WAY more than 250 cfm max. Doubt there is anybody on this board who doesn't know that.

What i posted about where you yourself said they go 325 was from your own thread a while back.

Just trying to figure out why you would say that. And no, what i have is nowhere close to an Indy headed roller motor that went 10.38. Mine wont run 10.50, judt not enough head to do that, unless the car was very light. Mine isnt. Its all steel with a flat hood, and i weigh 330...lol
This isnt an all out effort, just a reliable bracket motor that i hope wont hurt my 8.75 rear just footbraking it

Ok, my bad. I did just find an old indy brochure. Its shows them flowing 280 as cast, so yes they probably were 325. Also just remembering, Dwayne Velder did not pick them up at max lift, but did find some on the bottom and mid lift. 325@.700 sounds right. Not sure why i was thinking 250, maybe that was the original size of the port before porting?
