It's probably safer in the trunk than hanging way down under the car where road debris and other bumps can knock it off work
Mine's in the spare tire well under the fuel cell.

While looking for a good place to mount the pump, i did give it some thought about mounting it in the trunk, but it would have been above the bottom of the cell by a good margin, that and the fact if it ever developed a leak it could be a safety issue. A leak inside the trunk could become a quit large bomb with a mix of 93 and 113 race fuel. Unless i have an issue with the pump where its at, its stayin put.

Mine is a little above the outlet. The pump instructions suggested a 12qn line to pump and 10an out of the pump. I spoke to manufacture of the pump and they asked ho from the tank. Advised 16". Was told no problem.

As far as leaks my trunk pan under the fuel cell is not sealed(fuel sometimes can get spilled when filling a tank) so noticing a leak is not a problem. I would see it just as easy as if it was mounted underneath.

Ok

FWIW...I don't think I've ever mounted one that was below the fuel level on my own cars. I always use the inner rear frame rail on the passenger's side. Never had a problem yet.
Holley blue, Aeromotive street rod pump, and my current Aeromotive A1000.

Race only or street because I would think that pump would get hot as hell in the trunk w/no air circulation.....

Both. I have never had it get hot. I open my trunk to inspect things over before I fire it up after sitting for any length of time.

My Valiant was in the trunk and no issues. My Camaro is the same and it is a street car that sees the strip sparingly.
