You can stop looking for those braces. If the car is an air grabber car they never came with braces! I have done four 72 RR air grabber cars and talked to my friend and 71-74 RR and Charger expert Jimmy Boros and he said they never came with them!!! My 72 isn't an air grabber car. It has the standard RR hood and It has the stud in the firewall were the two braces would attach.

Strange, I saw plenty of ’72 A/G cars with braces back in the day at the dealers. The right side ’72, one year only, brace has a slight bend in the right-side brace specifically to clear the A/G air cleaner base. Also witnessed many of them in trash cans at the dealers after servicing, too much trouble to reinstall them for some of the old-timers, I guess. Yes, the stud, and its backing plate, are present in the upper cowls of all ’72 2-dr B-bodies. If the original paint has been cleared from the threads of the stud, it likely had the brackets originally.

I took them off and probably threw them away. They weren’t on the car very long.
