Many times on -1 heads, there will be several pockets that are super thin in one area.
When they’re like that, you can have pieces break away.
Not all the heads are like this....... but it’s pretty common with -1’s and SR’s.
Not usually an issue with EZ’s.

Also, I’ve also seen where the .015 shims didn’t hold up to the big springs too well.
