White paint in a marking pen, same stuff as the hobby store has at about 1/2 the price, depending on where you buy either. Its kind of like trying to color a letter with a marker, pita to do, leaves streaks, and then to top it all off, it only lasts a little more then a month before you get to practice again. Gene

at one time, i remember there were some "stick on" letters in various sizes and colors available. i don't know if they are still available or not. i read a magazine article about them stating they were easy to apply and stuck very well, but i don't know [or remember] what they said about long term use. these were aimed at the 17" and larger rim size crowd. ![beer beer](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/beer.gif)

Radial T/A's will turn brown. THEY WILL NOT CLEAN BACK WHITE AGAIN LIKE WHEN NEW!!! The white letters will get cleaner and close to white but not true white. My 5 yrs old front tires have been fine and they clean up white just fine. My rear tires which are different size, the white letters will not match. I tried all those suggestions mentioned and they do not get white like the fronts. BFG replaced the rear 2 tires under warranty when they were one or two years old. The replacement tires do the same thing. So what brand are your fronts?

I used Purple cleaner and a brass grill brush on mine last September and the picture was taken today. I have washed it several times and wiped them with the car wash soap, still look pretty good. I have had these tire a couple of years. Purple Power or Super Clean? Are the brass bristles having any affect on the surface or texture of the blackwalls? David
