has anyone ever had a problem lining up the trunk lid after installing a new weatherstrip pc. I checked and double checked on the correct way of installation and it is correct...the drivers side(left) lines up okay when the lid is closed, but the passenger side (right) is higher and wont line up properly...I spent hours adjusting the bolts on both sides of the lid trying to get the gaps correct and the lid to close properly and the heights to match...getting frustrated...just checked a picture of a 69 B Body trunk weatherstrip and looks exactly like my install...I did this on another B Body and had no problem...frustrated...

Is it possible the lip (steel) was deformed a bit before you installed the seal?
That might be the problem, and not easy to see if ir slight.

It is normal with a new seal, they need time to compress.

I install, shut the lid and wait a few days, parking it in the sun helps.

lip looked okay all the way around...being a new seal it might take a while to flatten out..I just saw another reply about that...could be the issue..thank you for your input,,

True about compression, that's usually the case on trunk lids, and most doors, especially early B bodies.
Adjust the latch up, close the lid, and it'll help compress the seal.

Now, if you're saying that the problem is only on one side:
Either a panel or its seal flange are incorrect.
You can adjust that in most cases by bending that flange down to gain more room for the seal's height.
That can be tricky; it's easier to do before gluing the seal on, and you have to be careful with the paint.
Is that the issue ?

seal is already installed..not sure if flange bending will resolve the issue but will look into that solution if after a week or so there is no change ( flattening the seal)...already painted the trunk lid (bottom) and all flange areas...as I recall the trunk closed okay with the old seal on it..it was slightly misaligned, but not bad...
