If I was still in Florida at my winter place I would have been 1st in line to get back in the gym. I had some equipment but not nearly enough weights. Had no way to squad, deadlift or bench. Even at 59 I still got into the gym 5 days a week before this virus closing crap took place. Ohio reopens gyms starting 5/26 and I can't wait.
Ok

The gym is actually my sole means ov income, and i train myself an average ov 20 hours a week (bout 3 hours a day, every day), and i'll still be the first to admit the gyms should be the LAST place to re-open. Gyms are filthy, filthy petri dishes and there is NO way to keep them clean. Any time i've ever gotten sick, it was at the gym. In Canada, BC anyways, they're opening tomorrow. Me and my lifter (i'm a coach) are not going back, as we've got a pretty cool set-up in my studio (COMPLETE gym, with better equipment than any ov the gyms in town). We moved the show to my studio when the gyms closed, and though i hate training at home... because there's no people here... its worked pretty well. When we go back, it'll be to a different gym. So, gonna wait out the mad return crowd and feel out who's gonna survive and who wont. We have 16 gyms in our little city here, and this BS is going to close at least 3-4 ov them. Just not sure which yet.

Nice setup Pale Roader. Fortunately the weather has been nice so I'm choring on the property everyday to keep in shape, but I am so missing the gym. No doubt the gyms should be the last place to open, I'd always be the first in our house to get a cold or flu and that's 100% from going to the gym regularly.

Our boxing gym has put up dozens of videos...30, 45, and 75 minute classes. I don't have a heavy bag at home, but if you put in the work, shadowboxing is a great workout. They've also put up several 30 and 45 minute kettlebell videos. Between those, my T25 videos, and my own weightlifting/body weight movement routine, I'm maintaining my weight/fitness/strength. I probably haven't made any gains, and I know that once I can go back to the boxing gym and hit the 95 lb.heavy bag, it will probably take me a week or two to get over the inevitable soreness, but otherwise, I should pick up right where I left off.

I used to be a gym rat and I would've have been going nuts during this time. Now it's home and work gym. I wouldn't hesitate to go back now though. I'd carry a ziploc with alcohol wipes and wipe things thoroughly before use and just keep my hands away from eyes, nose and mouth.
Facts are stubborn things.

If you're even maintaining you're doing well. I know a lot ov people that have put on 20lbs. Its pathetic. I also see a LOT ov people out running, that i never used to see, tons out walking dogs, biking. Our trails are teeming with hikers, and people are bringing their equipment and stuff to the track to play there. Most lifters i know are doing something, but they're losing weight without the heavy weight. It'll come back, and really, some ov them could be in better shape to begin with. Me and my lifter are doing great in all this... i miss the gym, and yeah, definitely the scenery... but lifting is going well. If i had an extra $250 i'd buy another pair ov rubber mats and set up in my driveway. We've had some gorgeous days lately, and the lack ov industry has really cleared the skies ov pollution. It'd be so nice to train outside on the nice days...
