I don't think he was asking for advice looking back at his post. He simply asked if anyone else experienced this. Go back and read the original post. "Anyone else have this happen?" The ones that didn't survive are strangely quiet it seems.

You need to go to the doctor. Oh wait, someone may have suggested that.
It's a symptom of needing another Mopar!!!

And the verdict is.......... " Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo" Or at least that's what he's initially treating it as. Basically a problem with the inner ear. The only thing is, I have zero dizziness when this happens. Gave me some meds to take for the nausea and exercises for the problem. Going to try it for a month and see what happens. If it goes away, great! If not, then an MRI and possibly other tests will be done. Oh, and he feels I need to lose at least 20 lbs. Thanks everyone.

That a great news. For those that already have experience with this diagnosis, is it common for nausea to last for hours(?) after altering the position that started the symptoms?

VERTIGO - I'm 57 and woke up one morning with Vertigo. I posted about it on here late last year. I fell asleep on the couch. I have sciatica so if I lay on my side for long my hips get very sore and I'll flip to the other side. Doctor said that probably what happened. While laying flat and moving my head face I disrupted the balance "granules" in my inner ear. I woke up EXTREMELY nauseated and dizzy like I was hung over. I mean hung over like we used to get at 20 (ish).
If you google there's a "procedure" you can do lying with you head hung over the edge of your bed to reposition those granules. After talking to a bunch of guys a few said they can't work under their car anymore. I haven't tried working under my car lately but I'm VERY cautious how fast I move my head now. It's called The Epley Maneuver.

That a great news. For those that already have experience with this diagnosis, is it common for nausea to last for hours(?) after altering the position that started the symptoms? When it happened the first time, it lasted only a few minutes. From what the Doc told me, each case is different, so how long it last depends on the individual. Until I was talking to the Doc today, I had forgotten I had an issue with my left ear about a year ago. Infection? I don't know but for a couple of days there was an itch that wouldn't quit with some....discharge. This was when I was without insurance, so I did nothing about it especially since it seemingly went away in a couple of days on its own. This might be where the current problem is stemming from.

sounds like a Richard Pryor skit, funny Not really related but a funny story.
A guy I went to high school with decades ago has become a bit of crazy old hermit. He just hangs out in his dumpy old house and smokes pot and watches TV. Anyway, he watched 20/20 or some other "news" show late one night while smoking a bunch of pot. The feature story was about people having sudden strokes. He wakes up in the middle of the night and his arm is numb and he has trouble moving it. He freaks out and calls 911, thinking he has had a stroke. They take him to the hospital and figure out that he was just laying on his arm oddly on the couch and the arm went to sleep. And of course, he was too cheap to have insurance so it cost him a boatload of money.
Some people...

I learned an important lesson 2 days ago, not that I didn't already know it but I guess I needed a reminder, don't severely injure yourself when the closest hospital is 2 hours away! I had an accident (brain fart really) with a drill and very sharp bit. It wasn't serious enough to need medical attention but it easily could have been. Worse yet I was here alone at the time. I need to pay attention.

I'm glad you found out what it was. Almost 2 years ago I ended up going to the ER because I got like that and it wouldn't go away. It was at night, I was up flipping through Instagram on my phone, in the dark. I'm pretty sure that's what triggered it. If I kept my head pointed straight ahead, it was ok, but after I went to bed I couldn't turn my head either way without feeling nauseous + dizzy. My wife drove me to the ER, of course it seemed like forever until they actually fixed it. They did the procedure srt mentioned, which I don't remember the name of. They leaned me back and reset something in my inner ear. They had me get some dramamine. I never could read in the car as a kid. Still can't! I have to look out the window to stay oriented. I get a little dizzy/nauseous on the creeper if I lean my head back a certain way, too. Thank God I didn't get that way and stay like that, I don't think I could take too much of that. I'd have to have somebody drive me to the river so I could jump off the bridge.

For 50 years I was a telephone pole and tree climber. I'd put my spurs on and go up 75+ feet removing branches on the way up, take the tree top out and then V notch the tree, put my rope in the notch and then repell down. Never had a problem.... I was also a sport parachutist and base jumper.
April 2015 I got hit by a flying car tire while riding my motorcycle home and hit the concrete barrier at 70 MPH. Major TBI. Had vertago but it would come and go. But one day in Sept 2016 I was on a telephone pole 45 feet up on my spurs hooking up a cable over a railroad crossing when vertago hit me hard. I could not look anywhere without trying to puke. My helper called 911 for the fire departments ladder truck. But I decided to shut my eyes and slowly climb down one small drop at a time. That was my very last day of outside work, I did two more weeks on light duty then retired. From that day on if I get up on a step stool the vertago hits. So because of vertago I gave up a $100,000 a year + beni's job

That must've been a helluva ride. I never wore a helmet when I was younger, but when I got a new bike in 2012 and started riding again I bought a full face Shoei.
