I’m friends with the person who provided his original to ECS for them to bring to market, he is a member here. I too will more than likely be picking up a set. I sent them my original one to copy. They are very nice and I have received the proto type to fit on my Challenger. Fit great, ECS is a great company. Bob

Nice reproduction but not 100% undistinguishable from NOS in the box here. Different rivet head and absence of the all important dot on sides of the nut Terry, I sent them the one that was on my challenger, factory assemble line one. That one has 2 small holes on the top. I think the NOS replacement ones have 1 hole at the top. Thanks for the Info. Bob

These 3 were nice assembly line ones removed from two 1970 Cuda 340 cars in Dobbins yard in NY in about 1973. They have the single hole like my NOS one. On the one verses two holes it was probably a case of different suppliers. If you notice, Davids NOS hanger has no hole. On Daves Challenger he used two NOS resonator hangers that I took for him to Carlisle as he was in the process of doing the car. Terry-Were the ones Dave got from you the correct size opening for his car or the smaller version that was "opened" up? Just wondering if that had something to do with the holes as far as may be someway to tell what size/diameter opening?

Jim You've got a good memory...yes, I think you were there when Dave was looking at them. I had told him that I only had a pair of the smaller NOS 318 ones, technically 318 used no resonator,( just head pipe to over axle pipe ) He said to bring them and after examining them at the show, said he could open them. Whether he actually used those or found the correct larger 2 1/4 before the car was totally finished I don't know. Irreguardless, the NOS I showed is 2 1/4 as were the 3 that I showed removed from original 340 cars, as would VCODE Bobs be, so one hole or two holes, shouldn't have dictated size of pipe used. Again Davids hanger has no holes and appears to be correct 2 1/4. Part number on his tag would say 3404932, same as on my box 3404932, same part number number for both sides, application 340,383-4, 440, 440-6, 426. Supply and demand I think.
