I don't think it would need a trans, as for the throttle lag you can tune that with a pedal commander, they have over 30 settings.

I'm not familiar with a pedal commander, but I will certainly look into this - thanks!

I'm still trying to find real world data on the competitive E.T. consistency of the A5 and A8 transmissions as well as their durability with slicks in an approximate 12 second bracket car.
