I sent my B1 heads out to Dustin Strong, aka Strong Performance of O'Neill, Nebraska, aka LimeRT, 2 years ago. I have payed up front for new valve train components. I have heard every excuse under the sun, why they aren't completed yet. From snow storms, to floods, to broken foot, to belly button infection, to tornado, to wrong parts. Now, he won't even answer his phone calls or texts. And I'm not the only one. More than a dozen people have hit me up on fb with the same situation. Do Not Use His Services Under Any Condition!!! He is a thief, a liar and a coward.

With all the good head porters on the East Coast how did you find this guy. I checked him out on Facebook and he looks like a real winner.

What significance may we attach to paying the entire bill up front? He's using your money to buy the parts for the last customer. Work will not start on your order until he has another customer.

Bingo. Most of these horror stories seem to have the same themes: paying for parts up front often in full, without a credit card, to a person multiple states away. If they don't accept credit cards, and want full payment without it being a 1:1 transaction, walk away. It's 2020, both of these indicate you're dealing with an unhealthy company. Thanks for the heads-up none the less.

In his case he's a f-ing thief period and I do NOT take credit cards and never rip anyone off......some card holders do and have recalled their payments in full and kept my buddy's carbs as well.......Not everyone is a crook....

FYI you can easily use Paypal and use a credit card as a funding source and still contest the charges and they WILL get reversed on the merchant. SO don't think Paypal is "safer" than just a card. We pay for EVERYTHING on credit cards, had to many instances of stolen info using a debit card, plus we get a fair amount of cash back using our "system". Just makes economic sense for us as we usually get back thousands of dollars a year this way. Having said that if I am dealing with a reputable dealer I have no issues writing a check or getting a money order, but anyone else whom I do not know it is going to be a CC or I will go elsewhere, unfortunately these days those protections are needed, as in this case.
Sorry to hear about your issues. Hopefully you can get some sort of resolution. IMO anytime you have to pay up front it is a crap shoot at best. Doing it through the mail and not in person makes it even more so. Just look at the Shadydell posts.....

if Cops will follow you or meet you there The moment you reveal how he got the heads and the money (you gave them to him) it's NOT a theft, fraud, or robbery. Let me anticipate the police response: "We don't provide bodyguard service, and you have no proof that any crime has been committed. It's a civil matter, we can't help you, you need a lawyer".
The most important thing to do now is to establish what happened (e-mails, not phone calls).
PayPal? Reversing the payment expires long before you know what he did.

PayPal? Reversing the payment expires long before you know what he did. It's called "theft by deception" and I've had to get the police involved in a situation of mine in the past. They took care of it with a phone call after I spent months fighting with the clown. You need documentation, dates, specifics and proof of conversations and promises, not just "he said, she said". I was lucky, many law enforcement agencies won't get involved without a person being flat out caught red handed, as I've also found out. I would talk to the local LE out there. Don't be surprised if they aren't interested in your problem. Attorney General consumer affairs is another option. Most of these chassis shops, engine shops, parts places, etc. are not large corporations. They are not going to finance your project for you, and they have to protect themselves from the a-holes who want an engine or car built but only have $10 in their pocket. Who is able to have thousands of dollars tied up in a building full of custom stuff that some clown couldn't pay for. That's not have it's done these days. If you want something done on a COD basis and it's custom or more than a few hundred dollars, good luck. Too many flakes out there. I won't do it and I don't expect it to be done for me. Do your research and pay attention. Get receipts. Use email and don't delete them. And if something sounds hinky, it probably is. If you're the kind of person who regularly gets fooled by Nigerian princes, you should probably get someone to help you with this stuff.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Check with your credit card, also. By the time I went round and round with CRT, Chase credit card told me they will only do something if it is within 2 billing cycles of the original charge. They said I had a legitimate claim, tho. Thanks a lot, MF’s, and to the shredder went that card. Jim

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.
