Looking ti see if anyone knows the paint code for the 68 Barracuda Dart Race Hemi engine color code.
So I can have my paint store mix me up some.

I was thinking it was the same as Street Hemi Orange then. But I will have to look that up to refresh my memory.

The problem is that the tints are different now and makes the new color wrong or off for the correct color.

On another current thread about Race Hemi Orange, someone mentioned the orange toner is no longer available in the system being used.
I would think some mixture of yellow & red, muddied up with green or black, brightened with white if need be, would get you there.
The Maxie/early 426 Race Hemi color was a browner version of the later Street Hemi Orange.
Not sure when/where the various shades were used after the early cars, but I think Scott Smith had a thread on that some time back.
There's supposedly a 3rd version of Hemi Orange for later Street Hemis...

This is from NAPA, the first numbers may be in the NAPA system. If not the other numbers will get you there. This is RACE HEMI, not street hemi, there is a difference.

Race hemi orange is much lighter than street hemi orange. Like SportF said, there is most definitely a difference.

My local AutoValue store had the code and mixed me up a few cans, it was spot on!

So what did you use?

I had some original parts that original paint We started with a remake of the original paint code (58 to 67 Omaha orange industrial Dodge) that was reformulated and added tint to get the correct shade.

This is a photo of the Race Hemi Orange I had the local PPG dealer mix me up from a panel I freshly painted from a can of Mopar Race Hemi Orange. They mixed it with there top Industrial formula. Nothing touches this after it dries. It matched exactly with the old Mopar rattle can color.
