https://www.popularmechanics.com/ca...ruck-electric-pickup-truck-what-we-know/Sample quote Breathless gushing aside, on a purely practical level, the arrival of the Cybertruck—alternatively called the Model B—will round out the company’s lineup and potentially lure a segment that has long been generally EV-resistant. While there’s no guarantee that Musk will successfully change most of those stalwart minds, the specs that have been speculated upon are fairly compelling: a range between 400 and 500 miles, declared in 2018; power outlets for heavy-duty tools, no generator required—something sure to appeal to the more hardcore truck users; and an equally appealing price below $50,000. Presumably, that would be for the base model, at least in terms of battery size, and more powerful versions will likely go significantly higher. End quote

How much will it tow? That is the only reason to own a truck AFAIAC. I don't think it would have a very long range towing a 10K lb trailer...

I'm just amazed that there have been zero leaks about anything related to it. The only picture we have was released by them. No spy shots or anything. Until the presentation, literally everything is speculation

I had a feeling it was going to be ugly, but I wasn't ready for that. I can't imagine them ever selling one. Not quite the mall crawler poser I was expecting. I haven't decided yet if I find it more ugly or boring. I was going with ugly until I watched the test drive video and the interior made me lean toward boring. If a contractor showed up at my house driving one of these (yeah, that's gonna happen) I'd tell him to turn around and get the f outta my driveway. Please, somebody with photoshop skills whip up an image of a Tesla Super Charger charging station out in the middle of a desert. Maybe 1/2 buried in a dune?

That looks like the Avalanche and the Azteck had a baby, and that's no compliment!

So what is the range towing a 14K lb load? Good question. They haven't released any details about that, possibly because it's still at least a year out from production, so things could change between now and then.

Using their numbers, the standard version CAN get UP TO 250 miles per charge. We know how the "can get up to" goes. But you can get a 2x motor version, and a 3x motor version CAN haul UP TO 14,000 lbs. A single motor gets 250 miles from a charge. Then a 2x motor should get 125 miles from a charge. And so a 3x motor should be able to get 83.33 miles from a charge. I suspect there is probably a speed limitation to get the full range of mileage from the charge, I wonder what that might be? 30 mph? If its 30 mph, would 60 mph cut the distance in 1/2? Rhinodart, maybe you could get from your home to the Rockford shop before you needed to sit 8 hours for the recharge.... I can see you now standing in line to get your hands on one of these babies!
