That looks like a early Mega wedge water block to me if you buy it I would have it sonic tested first before deciding what to do with it. One of the local ex ,Mopar drag racers (he retired due to health reasons) had several of those blocks and had one split a cylinder wall bore out to 4.500, he ran several of the same blocks at 4.440 and didn't have any cylinder wall failures at that size IHTHs

My guess is it's a P5007671 wedge mega block. Might be a unfinished block I can't tell from pictures if lifter bores are finished. It is a Motor Castings foundry block. It's the only one I found listed with 2 bolt mains. Zippy is the guy that would know more but I haven't seen him post in a while.

I am being offered a NOS block with a Casting number of 2468330-M It has 8A23 with a 27 under it It is a 4.25" bore with 2 bolt mains. 413, 426 Wedge or a 440 block? It has the extra material around the Lifter bores. Thank you in advance. He is asking $2,000.00. PJ The extra material around lifter bores is normal for a mega block.

Mike So is the P5007671 a Max Wedge block rather than a 440?

Have it sonic tested first before deciding One of my customers bought one of the early Hemi Mega blocks rough bored to 4.180, he wanted it to make it into a pump gas blown Hemi motor with a 10-71 roots blower with two big Dominator blower carbs, I had it sonic tested first and we decided to bore it to 4,25 and increase the stroke from 3.75o to 4.375 to get more C.I. On your deal I would leave at least .200 wall thickness for future builds to start with Check and think twice before deciding

No not neither. It's an RB performance block. So with it being rough bored from the Factory to 4.25 can I have it taken out to 4.32?

Is the $2,000 a decent price for the block?
