Its seems you have made up your mind anyhow, so let me know how you make out.

I believe we have a WINNER ...

Not really.... I think I would liken it to having an open mind...
90% of the oem springs are beehives.
I realize that these are not solid rollers, however there are many hydraulic rollers that are more aggressive than an XR280R, that Comp recommends beehives for. This is what has sparked my curiousity. A quick search on the internet on some of the other forums has revealed to me that this is not an uncommon practice.
I was just simply thinking outside the box. I really do respect the opinions of most that replies to this post, however it seems as though I'm not the only one who has "made my mind up anyhow".
I may try it or I may not....I haven't yet decided. I guess it is about pros and cons, which brings me back to why I posted in the first place. I'm trying to see if anyone has actually tried beehives in a similar scenario.

Thanks for the opinions!

The reason they can use them on OEM is they use a
lot smaller and lighter valve.... plus they arent
using the valve spring as a rev limiter, they use
fuel shut off

I believe Joe Sherman may have used the stronger beehive's on a BB Chevy with a solid roller, I think it was an extreme energy solid roller grind and it was small.
I also believe he used very tight lash, like .008.
Let us know if you try it, would be interesting!!

Brian
