Bales built this car during the heyday of SS/AH racing, he bought several motors from here and there, I remember when this project started, Ray Barton told Don that he was #51 on his waiting list.
When Don gets a good "bullet" in this car, he will be a factor, after all, he was a bracket racer before he got the hemi bug. The Mopar racers here in the Midwest know that Don was one of the few hemi cars that would run the gamblers at the CC races, he went some rounds and won some cash, too.
Bigdad, I don't know what your point is, but you are out of your league here, you have some show-quality cars yourself, but no racing notoriety.

I think his point is the forward bars are clearly chromed & it's been my experiance that NHRA frowns heavily on plating any stressed parts do to the potential for hydrogen embridlement...
Not meaning to take away from the car, it's beautiful & obviously fast...
My other comment would be I think the name "Silver Bullet" is/has been taken...

I'll let Mike Roth address the rulebook issues, all I know for sure is that last Sept. at the Nationals the Bullet passed tech and won 1st round. There were people 3-deep looking at this car, you have to see the incredible detail to appreciate it. As for the name, Bob Reed had it years ago and it is now irrelevant, as then it was referring to the paint and now it is an icon of a beverage.
